I loved my trip to the Zoo. It's huge and very well maintained. The vegetation is wonderful with lots of old and tall trees.
Animals seems happy.
You can even feed some goats with pallets (provided by distributors) and observe from very close some guinea pigs.
It's a lovely place to spend an afternoon.

Ostrava Zoo is not only a huge area, but it is mainly a place where you can see a huge number of animals, plants and flowers. Local staff takes care of everything very carefully. You can find very quiet places, but also places where children can play, where you can learn a lot ...

Loved the Zoo in Ostrava! Great place for families to hang out and perfect for children as there are heaps of playgrounds there. Spent around 3 hours to complete the zoo tho’ I was there alone on a work trip.

Maybe it's because it's January but hardly seen any animals, alot of areas closed, including food and drinks. They all must have been hiding away. Another place that doesn't cater for non Czech visitors, all info in Czech only and staff don't speak English. The place was like a ghost town I left early, real shame as I love the zoo

Always good and varied activities for the kids - animals seem to be cared for very well. Only problem is food stalls close early.

I love visiting this place, always nice and cool. The main restaurant in the ZOO is not very good, I don't recommend.

I live in Philadelphia and went here on a whim while my husband was on a business trip.
This zoo puts the one in Philadelphia to shame. So beautiful and well kept--you get right up to the animals and they are very well cared for.
Do not miss this on your trip-especially with the little ones!

Our favourite ZOO. This ZOO is better and better, year by year. A lot of investment to animals and visitor service can be seen. Warmly recommend.

ZOO Ostrava - about 350 animal species in 3000 specimens bred at area of 100 ha. Tour of the ZOO - zoological, botanical, more atraction for children. Barrier-free access to all pavilions. Opening hours 9 - 16 - 19.

This is rather a place for a walk than a place to see animals. Most of the expositions were closed and we did not see many animals. There are quite a few playgrounds for kids. The zoo seems to be a bit disorganized.

Do zoo z psem się nie chodzi i to nawet nie jest kwestia wpływu na otoczenie, tylko kultury - podobnie jak nie wchodzi się ze zwierzętami do kościoła, czy meczetu.
