Well worth a visit if you're in Ostrava!! A perfect day out, lots to see & do! The petting farm is an absolute highlight and able to go in to the goats much to everyone's delight of all ages! Only downside is the small cages for lions & such, plenty space to expand this!

We spent with our grandchildren last Sunday in ZOO Ostrava. I was surprised how many people were there and at least 60 % from abroad (PL, SK, D, AT). It isn't a wonder due to the fact the ZOO is really very nice, quiet and relaxing place worth to spend there the whole day. Many species of animals and trees... More

Great zoo for a family day - it has so many playgrounds, food stands, attractions... also the animals' "cages" are spacious and the animals all seem well. Inbetween there are stretches to walk with lovely vegetation and forest.

I have been to many zoos and this one is at the top of the list. Beautiful gardens and lots of places to sit. Many close up views of the amimals.

ZOO Ostrava was subject to intense renovations during the last years (and the renovations are still occuring nowdays - however, however the restrictions of visit are rather small) and its one of coolest ZOO's I have ever been in. Exhibitios are oriented to kids and very interactive (walk through cages with birds, animals feeding, etc.). Entrance fee is not big... More

I live in Philadelphia and went here on a whim while my husband was on a business trip. This zoo puts the one in Philadelphia to shame. So beautiful and well kept--you get right up to the animals and they are very well cared for. Do not miss this on your trip-especially with the little ones!

Ostrava ZOO is smaller in size but offers plenty of animals to see, playgrounds, refreshments and walks. ZOO is working hard to modernize some of the old pavilions and house the animals in the modern style. The newest pavilion is called Evolution.

Surrounded by the forest this place looks and feels natural. The paths are wide and there's a lot of them. Be prepare to go up and down the hill. I was there with my 2 year old boy and he had a lot of fun. Lot's of activities for him on site. The animals have enough room and their exhibition... More

It's said that ZOO Ostrava is the largest in Czechland (excepting "safari" in Dvur Kralove). Very good place for a half day family walking.
