A handsome theatre offering opera and ballet, accessible to tourists, as well as Czech language drama.
The Moravia Theatre, Olomouc faces onto the square opposite the town hall. A local ballet and opera company puts on regular shows. We saw a production of Swan Lake during our visit to Olomouc. The theatre has a large, handsome foyer with a huge cloakroom area - clearly everyone arrives with an big coat in winter - allowing plenty of space for the audience to gather before the show. The auditorium is fairly small, with seating in the stalls ("orchestra stalls" to Americans) and then boxes on a number of levels.…
