About
Launch a hydrogen rocket, star in the TV weather report, freeze your own shadow, experience an earthquake, set free a tornado, and get to the bottom of the Bermuda Triangle. All these experiences and many more are waiting for you in the VIDA! science centre. Near the Brno trade fair complex, playful explorers of all ages will find more than one hundred and seventy interactive exhibits over an area of nearly 5,000 square meters that will give them a better understanding of the world around us. This unique exhibition is divided into four thematic sections: the Planet, Civilization, Man and the Microworld. The Science Centre for Children is an independent section for visitors from 2 to 6 years old. All exhibits are captioned in Czech, English and German.

Though Vida is focused on CZ children; all children are welcome and will enjoy. All information is bilingual; CZ and ENG. So with a bit of help of the parents all children can enjoy and learn on any rainy day in Brno

The centre is focused for hands-on experience in a large hall with small external area (opened in summer only). Our six years old daughter enjoyed the visit and we spent almost three hours by testing and exploring of various science topic suited also for younger kids. There are some 3D movies available. A small diner is part of the centre, but they were unable to accept credit cards during our visit there, whilst the centre tickets sales did.

Nice space, really needs to have signs translated in English so that us visitors could enjoy more. Lots of interactivity but half the time we didn't know what was going on due to everything being in Czech.

If you are going to visit Brno with the children of all age, this is must for the family. Full of fun, full of education for the children, and you can spend all day there. I was there with 3 children (11,7 and 3) and all of them found activity for their age.

Vida is Czech equivalent of Heureka and I think it's perfect name for this place. When you enter you might thing that all those moving things are just for kids, but you will be wrong. I enjoyed it like a little child and experienced again joy of discovering new things and learning hands on about world around us.

We loved this place and our small son (4 years old) was in seventh heaven! Everything is new, clean, the whole place is spacious. There are different topics to explore and if you don;t know in what way something works, the staff is very helpful and helps you immediately.
This place works on Mondays when other museums are closed. In my opinion, this is perfect as you can spend there time with your kid.
We spent there five hours :)

Definitely worth spending 2-4 hours. While it cannot compare with attractions like Boston Science Museum, it has got interesting exhibits and also the science shows (provided you understand Czech) are really good.

Packed with interactive exhibits, it is a fun introduction to science for visitors of all ages.
We had fun exploring space, biology, physics, and more through hand on displays. Our kids (5 & 8) had a blast especially with all the water exhibits, while we had fun learning alongside them... And occasionally resting in the convenient paced couches. The clear explanations ensure everyone can grasp the scientific concepts.
We spent a full day at VIDA!, from 11-18. Consider the presentation in the Theater of science, but be aware it's only in Czech. The guides inside spoke English, and were very helpful.
We brought our own food and ate outside (you can enter and leave 3 times). You can store your luggage for free at the entrance.
