Beautiful tower

We walked past and admired the beautiful tower of the Old Town Hall. It was a shame we couldn't go up as the tower was closed. I am sure the views would have been nice.

Not that Brno has many attractions, but the streets are clean and the buildings aren't crumbling, predisposing to pleasant strolls.

A successful start of anything is really important. Beginning of the year in the city of Brno is celebrated with music. January 1st, right at 11 a.m., which is the legendary noon in Brno, you are offered a small concert performed by musicians playing from the top gallery of the tower that belongs to the Old Town Hall. You might... More

It's a funny city with some people but quite small where you can do everything quite fast. Similar to other cities in Europe, I do not consider it is a special city or some place that I would do miles to go..

Brilliant entrance with the crocodile hanging from the ceiling, it made some kids scream! Spectacular frontage to the tower with the ironwork rising to the sky in four tentacles. The tower was closed when we went but it dint spoil it too much for us. Lots of information is on hand to make the short visit enjoyable.

f you have the opportunity to walk around the Town Center of Brno, be sure to visit the Old Town Hall Gate (Stara Radnice). Be sure to take a good look at the tower. It seems the city fathers hired Antonin Pilgrim to decorate the gate and was promised a large sum of money for his work. However, when the... More

When you go there, look for the tourist information inside and get to know about the Brno dragon, the wheel and why the decoration outside is a little bit different. Extra tip: There's a great restaurant on the other side of it.

This is a very interesting building in the middle of the old town plus it has a nice information center in it with English language maps and help. I didn't go up in the tower, it was closed when I was there but it is a lot of stairs. You can wander through the entry way where the large crocodile... More
