A few stalls selling knickknacks, few places to get an ice cream. When we finally found an ice cream store they didn't take credit cards nor euro, we left them the already served ice cream! Hard to find a restroom or a taxi. No signage or menus in English. The glowing reviews are by local tour guides and do not... More

Came upon the Zelny on the way down from the Cathedral (P+P's) and found mainly a vegetable & florist market surrounding the Fountain and other Statuary with beautiful old buildings dominating the Square, it was early so the place was still setting up but appeared to be good spot to while away an hour or two ?

I really prefer this smaller square to the one rated higher on Tripadvisor. This square has quite a few pretty buildings plus it's on the way to the cathedral. You can usually buy some fresh fruit and vegetables from the street vendors here.

I enjoyed the friendly Christmas market here, drinking warm local wine with fruit in it. It is very clean and gives a wonderful feeling to all who witness it.

On the day we visited there wasn't much happening in Zelny trh, just a few stall-holders set up in the middle, selling flowers & some fruit & veg. The market is known in English as the Cabbage (or Green) Market, but there were metal fences erected cordoning off part of the square (refurbishment in progress?) & it didn't look like... More

The Zelny trh was getting renovated when we visited last year which was a shame, as we were told it was a good place to get fresh produce.

After long reconstruction Zelny trh is finally "as a new", it's nice to walk or sit on benches near little fountains to see all the historic buildings, big beautiful fountain in the middle of the square and people passing by. It's in the center of Brno so you get "anywhere" you want to from here.

Currently all dug up and under refurbishment. Can see the Parnassus Fountain from a distance. Some interesting buildings in the general area.

The vegetable market square is a serious piece of history in Brno. Not only is it older than Brno itself, it's also one of the oldest public squares in the Czech Republic. There is almost year round market activity on the square as fruits and vegetables are sold continuously from spring through autumn and winter sees the square incorporated into... More

Zelny trh is for me more interesting than the main square Namesti Svobody. I enjoy the markets taking place here in summer as there are plenty of interesting offers and a variety of quite good fresh food from south Moravia. Even Christmas markets here are somehow nicer and more comfortable. It feels more like Christmas with a small stage instead... More
