My country has no sea, but my home town has a dam. It is great to boast with it and enjoy summer boating plus visiting the Veveri castle. Even if you do not enter the interiers, observing exteriers broadens your horizons. Studying the special edition of the Veveri Castle wine in the wine cellar has also its charm. Drink responsibly... I visited the castle on the way to Brno, a wonderful place in nature. The castle has a small museum with various exhibits especially medieval weapons. An ideal place for a picnic with family or friends

Castle Veveri, is one of the pretiest castles I have seen. If you are interested in going there it is a long trip to the top. I would suggest you bring food and drink for the journey. Located on the outskirts of Brno's borders, there is plenty to see along the way. The trip takes the entire day, if you... More

We took boat, it is cca 45 minute trip on lake. Castle is not in perfect condition. Many ongoing construction. Very limited opportunity to get lunch, only hot dogs and beer. Overall area is excellent for walk.

We took the boat option to get there, so the whole trip was more of an excursion. I enjoyed walking from the boat up the castle steps and around the battlements. Churchill took his wife here on their honeymoon. The views are great and we strolled down to a church along the road. It was shut but fun to walk... More

Just only few kilometers from Brno. Nice castle surrounded by nature. The castle hasn't been reconstructed completely yet. Anyway, it looks great!

The castle is located in the vicinity of the mid part of the Brno artificial lake. Driving distance roughly 10 to 15 minutes from the high-way exit (Ostrovacice). There are two parking areas. One (the larger one) at the ground level of the castle and a smaller one at the mid level. The entrance fee is really moderate and the... More

First, the name of the castle is "Hrad Veveří", not Statnim Hrade Veveri. It is located near Brno and the ideal way to come is by bus, car or - the best choice - by boat, which belongs to Brno public transportation. The trip will make a half of the impression as the castle itself may be disappointing. There is... More

We have not had enought time to visit the interiors, so the rating is for exteriors of the castle only. From a distance it looks fabulous, inside the castle walls, it is difiicult to say. Apparently some reconstruction works are on, but the buildings looks quite shabby and somehow abandoned. May be the interiors would change my oppinion, definitely will... More
