The Zoo is located 5 minutes from the center via public transportation, the easiest route is by bus # 55, 56 or 57 from the center square Mirove namesti, exit stop Vojanova ZOO. It will take you to the entrance to the Zoo, from where you walk up the hill to see various indoor and outdoor exhibits. Visit on a nice day to enjoy many activity corners for kids outside. I have visited with a friend, who had 2 small kids and they loved it, with frequent stops, they had no problem climbing up the hill at all. Not crowded. There is another bus stop at the top, but it does not take you directly to the center of the city. I suggest walking down again and resting at the restaurant there while waiting for the bus.

The zoo is on the outskirts of the city but only about fifteen minutes from the city centre. It's built on the side of a very steep hillside so you are well advised to take the miniature train up to the top then walk down taking in the attractions. Quite a pleasant day if the weather good and restaurant offers good quality food reasonably priced. Also entrance fee of approx twenty pounds for four adults and a two year old good value. Also a few cafe's dotted around on the way down. Downside not very impressed with big cat enclosures, it was obvious the tiger was distressed.

It is great place if you (like me) love zoos but also don't like crowds in front of the animal pens.
They have many not so usuall animals and they make a lot of interesting attraction for visitors like commented feedings. It is smaller zoo and the benefit is that you are able to go from one animal feeding to another (which is not possible in bigger zoos like in Prague).
I would definitelly recommend seeing feeding of Sun Bear on the weekends, when they put honey and fruits on the tree so the bear can use his skills to reach it like in the nature.
Few info bits:
The parking in front of the entrance was free. The ticket office accepts credit cards

I planned a second visit to this Zoo as I was very keen to have the opportunity to see the new sun bear cub active and going outside. Last time when I visited, the cub was only two months old, the barriers and screens around the viewing window had only just come down, and the cub was not yet moving far from Mum. Well, what a change this time! The cub is now six months old and is extremely brave and confident! She is very active and was climbing the trees in the outdoor space. This meant that she showed extremely well. I had the opportunity to see all four bears properly this time. I am very fond of this Zoo and I feel that it has so much to offer. A great selection of animals and so much of the Zoo is so nicely done. The carnivore pavilion with its range of cats is just excellent and all of the exhibits at the top of the hill including giraffes, elephants and rhino are a must see. The restaurant again did not disappoint, food was absolutely excellent quality. I really enjoyed my day at this Zoo and as always I just wish it had been longer! This Zoo is very easily accessible from the city centre and from the main train station, it’s an absolutely essential place to visit if staying locally and personally I feel well worth a trip if staying just an hour away by train in Prague.

We were there at the end of April. A lot of cages were empty, sometimes with a notice that it is under reconstruction but nothing happened arround, in the rest there was just nothing and weed. A few animals. The only positive were playgrounds for children.

nice and small little zoo only 20 mins walk from centre of usti,
be warned though it is built into a hill and is all uphill and hard going at times,
plenty of play areas for kids,
a little rum down and not whole lot of room for the animals,
plenty of little cafes in between and a nice gift shop at the front and at about 10 euro for entry not too bad

An awesome zoo! A great selection of animals, pleasant exhibits and absolutely heaps to see. The carnivore house is a clear highlight, especially at feeding time. The restaurant inside the zoo is also brilliant, and I would highly recommend the pizza. There are also some beautiful and scenic views to find around the grounds. My favourites were the sun bears and I was lucky enough to visit on the day that the screens were taken down around female sun bear Barma and her two month old cub, so I was able to get one of the first glimpses of them together. I also very much enjoyed watching male Myanmar and younger female Babu, who I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to hand feed. The zoo staff were very approachable, friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience and one of my favourite zoos that I’ve visited.

The Zoo is located on the edge of Krásné Březno, close to the centre of the city of Ústí nad Labem. We saw a parade of elephants through the gardens. ZooTrain, a tram for a fee transports visitors from the lower to the upper entrance of the zoo.

Some rare animals : orang-otans, lions, Malaysian bears, hyacinth macaw (I think), Amur tiger, guepard. Still the animals seem to have enough space and to be well-treated. Children can also benefit from playgrounds, free poney riding (from 14h to 17h I think) and pet the sheep. Possibility to buy paintings from the Indian elephants.
