I spent numerous hours researching various tours and reviews on historical sites and significant things to do on my, spontaneous traveling in 10 days, first visit to Prague in January 2020. The must visit historical site for me was Terezin Resettlement Camp, the reviews I read with standard tour companies seemed lacking in depth of knowledge for this very special site and important history, so I kept looking, then I happened to find a message board of people talking about Pavel Batel, Terezin Private Tours and his associates, the most in demand tour. In every comment people shared their experience, raving about Pavel’s (and his associates) in depth research and knowledge of Terezin, whether they were fortunate to book Pavel or one of his associates, everyone was extremely impressed and highly recommended the tour as a must. I was sold and my entire trip itinerary was built around first securing a tour of Terezin with Pavel Batel or an associate; I was ecstatic that Pavel was available the last full day of my visit to Prague, had it been peak season in Prague I doubt a last minute availability would have been possible. Our private tour for two for the entire day (about 7 hours) with Pavel began at our hotel, first impression - courteous, direct, very handsome and strong physique for an historian. On the drive to Terezin, Pavel pointed out and pulled over to talk about significant sites and events which were important to see for what we would learn later that day at Terezin. My experience that day, which happened to be the day commemorating victims of the Holocaust, was truly spiritual, Pavel Batel’s style is storytelling, we were transitioned with him through a portal taking us back in time, Pavel’s passion, knowledge from years of continuous research, taking you behind the veil uncovering truth - no whitewashing, the intensity was so real. We visited several sites in Terezin, definitely far more exhibits, sites and time spent than any standard tour, we were given time on our own at exhibits after Pavel gave his introduction of the exhibits, he guided us through the entire town pointing out buildings and sharing the landscape and experiences back then. We enjoyed a really nice conversation over lunch together (meal not included in tour price). An eye-opening, heartfelt experience I am grateful for that I will remember and cherish, always. Thank you, Pavel, much respect and love. Gail Irby

I brought my class to Terezin and am very happy to have used Terezin Private Tours and Pavel Batel. He is highly informed and a gifted storyteller. The narrative he shared is one that made a profound impact on my students and enhanced the content of my course immensely. I highly recommend it!

Michaela took us on a walking tour of Prague. His knowledge and explanations were enthusiastic. A pleasant experience and we highly recommend using him for any tour you may be thinking of. Our Trip to the Terezin Memorial with Pavel Batel was a highlight of our entire trip. Pavel's personal energy. knowledge and passion were far beyond what we could have anticipated. He pointed out facts, areas of the town/ camp and several important scenarios that I cannot imagine another tour person would provide. He spent all the time we needed to have a complete, thorough and outstanding tour. Although it was a tough subject seeing the town and camp, Pavel made it a lesson in history and something we will not forget. If you can get Pavel, you are in for a special experience.

Words cannot express the memorable tour we had exploring the Jewish quarter with Yvonne Weisgrab. Yvonne's passion and knowledge truly exceeded our expectations. In addition to this tour we joined Pavel Batel for the day tour of Terezin. Pavel's style of storytelling made this an unforgettable experience. Additionally, other tour groups could overhear Pavel's talk and actually moved closer to listen to his stories. That says it all. Both guides were the best we've ever had. We would not hesitate recommending both Yvonne and Pavel.

Our party of 8 had a great private tour of Terezin with our guide Jan. He was extremely knowledgeable about the camp and history of the Jews. As horrific as the history of the war and post war was, we enjoyed learning more details from Jan. I would highly recommend going in a small group like we did because not only is it more personal but you can take the time you need where you want.
