Terezin is a fascinating place and can be easily done as a day trip from Prague by public bus (one hour each way, $7 roundtrip). When you're in the city center, you can forget that you're inside what was once a formidable fortress. There are...More

The fortress could not seal out evil no matter how well built. It contains excellent displays from Terezin as a concentration camp. A must see. This is 2017. Will history repeat itself? God help us.

I saw many fortressess in Europe, but Koenigstein really impressed me. Amazing place and it is worth to go there and get know about history of this place (f.ex. during WWII it was the stalag for war prisoners).

Left the place with an ambiguous feeling. Both the callousness and the malevolent genius needed to pull this off on such a scale were unbelievable. Places like this need to exist to remind us of how deep humanity can fall. But also of how resilient...More

The walled town that served as the family camp. See it with Pavel, walk the town and see how it appeared someone normal, a sad state of affair.

Approaching Terezin from the east you come first to the Small Fortress which housed a Nazi concentration camp. It's massive, and the inevitable reaction is, "Why is this called the Small Fortress?". Then, when you continue to the town proper, you realise why: the town...More

A ghost town with a lot of history, the ghetto museum has a very informative film, which tells everything you need to know.

The fact that you're in the city where the prisoners were being held is impresive, at the same time the city/town itself is not to impressive anymore (besides the museums). Not well preserved and not to many people living there (for a reason obviously).
