A place to stop on the road to Brno

A nice historical marketplace you have to pay a visit per instance on your way to Brno. Have a lunch at the Zacharia restaurant.

I didn't find this place overly exciting, but it's a nice looking and historic centre to see whilst visiting the castle etc.

We arrived in Telc on a saturday - market day. The town square was busteling with people shopping, performers and market stalls selling all sorts of things. A great experience. We paused and had a drink on the terasse in front of our hotel, while looking at the beautiful house facades.

Stroll around the square. Enjoy the outdoor architectural beauty like a museum. Well worth the long distance to travel. It's amazing. Plus lots of good cafes shops restaurants and bed & breakfasts to visit. The lakes and surrounding castle park are beautiful as is the surroundings. Consider renting a bike. Base your bike tour in Telc. The train has lots... More

Telc Historic Centre is a World Heritage site. This smal city you can visit in two hours is full of history and the main square is pelnty of restaurants and boutiques, and veru interesting buildings around.

The well restored old centre of Telc is an essential visit for lovers of baroque buildings, although apart from staring at them and taking lots of photos there seems little else to do apart from eating and drinking in the fine cafes. The place does have a restful ambience which makes it a fine respite during a busy travel schedule.

We stayed in Telc for 2 days, use as a base to go to different towns around (Trebon and Trebic). The town itself looks like the decoration for the movie. It worse to spend a day or two there.

The pocket sized historical center of UNESCO World Heritage site Telc is tiny, but packed end to end with treasures. The square itself if ringed by a series of confection-colored buildings all built by Zachariáš of Hradec in the 16th century. A magnificently preserved Renaissance chateau sits at the head of the district. Many worthwhile restaurants and cafes can be... More

Another World Heritage Site worth the visit. Off the beaten path and a nice place to see some of the history of the Czech Republic.

Well preserved town center with many historic renaissance and baroque houses. What was a little bit disturbing was the fact, that it was nobody there - no tourists, no local, the town looked abounded at the time of our visit. But it was a very nice stop no the way back home from Prague.
