The area
Neighborhood: Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.

Great antique clock and jewelry shop
Jun 2021 • Couples
My husband and I have visited this shop a few times on our travels to Prague and the shop owner is a delight to work with. She is nice, knowledgeable and let's you take your time. This shop is a must when you visit Prague. There are a lot of watches, instruments, clocks, pocket watches, jewelry and more. Most of the stuff is antique which adds to its charm. Although she will take a credit or debit card she prefers you to pay in cash.

Very positive

Very welcoming place, with heaps of vintage watches! Actually, I bought there an old bracelet, as they have much more items than just watches.

The staff was very proffesional, kind and helpful. It seems that they understand the old watches very well, and I learned there a lot of interesting facts about old watches.

I feel swindled
Aug 2020
I bought a ladies watch at Old Clocks Prague. It was neither rare nor expensive although the price was a multiple of what you would pay at a used items marketplace. I did it because the shop looked genuine and I was assured by the merchant that all their watches were serviced and fully functioning.

Not a full day later the watch stopped working. As it turned out, its mechanism was obliterated due to lack of maintenance and oiling. A proper watchmaker serviced it, which costed almost the same price as that of the original purchase, and it's working again. It's a nice watch.

Based on this experience I consider "Historické Hodiny" a fancy tourist trap. Don't buy watches there.

Recommended for antique/old watches

I would not normally visit places like this: I know nothing about watches, but saw some lovely ones in the window, so took a chance. The lady serving (Tuesday 17 December, around 11am) was very welcoming and patient (we didn't have enough money for the watch I wanted so had to return). There were so many beautiful items in this store, and all seemingly well-priced, that I wish we had had more room in our suitcase (and more money).

Great selection of antique and reproduction watches
Oct 2018 • Couples
Lovely little shop. The last who owns it is very helpful and my husband found a fab antique Prim watch. They also sell clocks and some glass jewelled ornaments. Well worth a visit if you’re in the Jewish Quarter

We were looking for a unique gift and found this store. We purchased a reproduction pocket watch for very reasonable for our son. They also had some antique clocks and watches.

Have returned with each visit to Prague

Love this small, elegant, eclectic shop in Prague. I have returned each time I visit Prague, and have come away with a small treasure. If you are interested in well priced, beautifully hand made 4" jeweled Christmas trees, this is the place. A great remembrance and gifts for those at home. Beautiful clocks, jewelry, all very lovely and in excellent condition. Don't miss this jewel.

Very good collection of clocks, watches, pens. Lady who owns it is helpful, patient and did convince me to buy a watch from 1949!

Prices can be within ten price range of average traveller. Would recommend visiting it if you are in Jewish quarter.
