The area

Neighborhood: Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.

History, culture, cafes, brewery and a palace can all be found on this avenue.

The imposing National Theatre building stands on the corner.
Across the street is the famed Cafe Slavia. Further down is the new restaurant with brewery - Pivovar Narodni, next to the Baroque St. Vorsila Church
Then there is the very popular Cafe Louvre, close to the Velvet revolution memorial, the small bronze plague hidden in an arcade. The grand Palace Adria at the corner.
The screeching trams in the middle of it all.

Yes, there you have it - history, culture, cafes, church, brewery and a palace.
You are in Prague...

When I visit Prague, I never miss crossing the Legii Bridge to Narodni Trida.
In the past I used to hurry through here going about my daily business.
These days I take a leisurely stroll. I love returning ....

On Avenue of the Nation is a heavy traffic somethimes. Here you will found a lot of restaurants and caffees. On intersection near vltava you will found National Prague theatre. On the avenue is also famous Slavia caffe named best-known caffe in Prague. If you cross Vltava river in the middle of the bridge you can go downstairs to Shooters island. Nice place to rest and relax.

Narodni is the principal avenue in New Town of Prague. It is a rather average looking city street lined with office buildings, hotels and restaurants. However, as it approaches the Vltava River, it is the location of the magnificent National Theater (Narodni divadlo). Narodni is also remembered for the events of 1989 when riot police violently suppressed here a peaceful student demonstration that triggered the Velvet Revolution.

Narodni Trida, this name of street is more popular and more common on maps (than Avenue of the Nation) is very helpful, busy and bustle street. Let's say it is the pulse of the modern city. The street connects Wenceslas Square with the National Theater and the river, is a busy thoroughfare running through the heart of urban Prague.
Make way down Narodni Trida until you hit the tram tracks (just beyond the Tesco Department store). On the left, look for the photo of President Bill Clinton playing saxophone, with Vaclav Havel on the side. Also from this point you can take a tram #22 and easily reach the main entrance of Prague Castle in 7 stops.

Go down the street and you can have a lunch in Cafe Louvre, then continue and you will see a short corridor with white arches. Inside this arcade is a simple memorial to the hundreds of students injured here by the police in the Velvet Revolution, which took place on November 1989.
So it is interesting stroll through urban Prague tot the National Theater and toward Vltava River in the end of the street.

This very interesting street is the home of the National Prague Theatre, a truly beautiful building, we sat alongside the river and admired it for ages
The rest of the street, in common with most of the streets in the Old Town, was filled with architectural gems.
Plenty of places to eat, ranging from retaurants to coffee shops.

Avenue Of The Nation is without a shadow of a doubt one of Pragues most famous streets.
The architecture along here is awesome with The National Theatre the jewel in the crown along this street but there are so many other outstanding buildings here such as Cafe Slavia ,the relatively new brewpub Pivovar Narodni looks superb ,it really is one great place to visit.
The street also houses one of the most beautiful churches in Prague, namely St Ursula ( St Vorsila ) .
On any holiday to Prague I always head down to this part of town ,it's only a short tram ride from The Hotel Atos were we always stay.
A superb ,famous and beautiful street that I highly recommend you visit if your in the area.
