This tour was pathetic. Where to start? The tape describing the attractions is drowned out by the noise the (fake) train makes as it passes along the cobblestone streets. There is little information at any rate. The cabin is choked with exhaust fumes from the drivers cabin leaving you nauseous and unwell. Photos are impossible due to the rough ride. Videos? Forget it. It’s uncomfortable, smells, is loud, cold and just awful. Do yourself a favour and jam your hand in a drawer repeatedly for an hour. Less painful.....

Overall I thought this tour of Prague was poor. It passes by some of the major landmarks with very little information about them and some of the landmarks were mentioned once we passed them. The bumpy ride didn’t bother me but I didn’t feel I gained much from it overall. There was no photo opportunity and guide seemed indifferent to the crowd. I was passing some time while waiting for my husband to meet me after work and as both of us had been to Prague some years before, this trip suited my needs for a quick recap on the big landmarks and it’s cheap. Otherwise I would probably have chosen a hop on hop off tour of the city as they are much more informative.

This tour does not require booking you can just turn up at the Old Town Square, pay at the location and jump right on. The journey is 9.5kms with the first train leaving at 10am and the last at 5pm. It gives you an excellent orientation of the town on both sides of the river and then you can decide the areas that you would like to go back to, to check out privately in greater depth. There are no toilet stops and whilst I am on this subject, the use of toilets in Prague are charged so you need plenty of local coin currency with you. It can be anything from 50p to £1 per person per use. If you are eating in a restaurant you can use their bathroom free of charge but if you only want to use their bathroom and not eat then they charge you. Even McDonalds have an electronic turnstile to gain access into their bathroom. Back to the train tour ...... Prague streets are all cobblestones both on the pavements and the roads so this tour is very very bumpy from start to finish. If you suffer with a bad back or motion sickness I wouldn't take this tour as it really is one heck of a ride. I loved it I must say.

I am really surprised the amount of positive reviews about this. It was not worth the cash. You can not hear a word the tape is saying due to how noisy the train is going over all the cobblestones. You can not get a good picture of anything as it races past things bar the palace which it stops in the palace square. Also it says to look at things but when you look they are either far in the distance or you get a rubbish view as they are behind trees. Hardly saw any of the Jewish Quarter. You are better just walking round.
