This monument stands in tribute to Winston Churchill, the British Prime Minister who lead the United Kingdom through the Second World War.
This monument features a bronze sculpture atop a pedestal. The pedestal is made of stone and is engraved with the world CHURCHILL. The sculpture of the made would not look out of place even in the UK. It depicts Churchill as an elderly man wearing a buttoned up long coat, with a grumpy look on his face. The sculpture also shows Churchill using a walking stick to support himself, clearing indicating the depiction of Churchill in his twilight years.
The monument is a little out of place opposite a Trade Union office, but sadly it’s also well away from the main tourist circuit, to the north east of Prague Central Station.

We went there on our way to the castle last weekend and like the fact that it was very quiet and very quaint. This is a place you do while in that area but do not get out of your way for it.

Very random statue of Churchill. Pretty decent, not really worth going out of your way for unless you really love statues

Jumping off the tram to enjoy a day out in the Zizkov district I passed this statue in honour of Winston Churchill, one of the most famous British personalities of all time.
The statue is not that well detailed but it captures the essence of the man ,the defiance of the stance is superb, if you're planning a trip to the Zizkov district its a statue to most definitely check out and easy to locate along Namesti Winstona Churchilla.

My twin brother Stephen and I were in Prague on the run up to the Christmas period for a ten day holiday ,we visited the eclectic Zizkov District a couple of times ,with the snow falling we walked through Winston Churchill Square and passed this statue in honour of arguable one of the most famous Britons of all time namely Winston Churchill.
The statue is not that well detailed but in essence it captures the soul of the man ,the stance of defiance ,it's just a great statue to check out if you're in the Zizkov District ,it's easy to locate on Namesti Winstona Churchilla.

Walking around the wonderful and eclectic district of Zizkov my twin brother Stephen and I passed the statue in honour of arguably one of the most famous Britons in history namely Winston Churchill .
The location is fine,it's in a park area ,a few benches to take in the park area and relax and view the wonderful statue which is not that well detailed but it does catch the essence of the man ,easy to locate on Winston Churchill Square,well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Located in the Zizkov district of Prague is a rather unremarkable square called Namesti Winstona Churchilla ( Winston Churchill Square ) ,the square which in reality is a rather unkempt park area complete with bench seating is not really to glamorous a place to visit but the statue that gives the square its name is most certainly well worth checking out, arguably the most famous Briton that ever lived ,the statue to Winston Churchill is well detailed and shows the leader striding confidently ,its a great photographic opportunity and a good selfie moment.
Easy to locate, jump tram numbers 5.9.26.55.57 to stop Husinecka, this practically drops you off by the square were the statue is located ,its to the right of FZ Viktoria Zizkov Football Stadium.
Worth checking out for the statue.

Winston Churchill Statue is a really good monument to this extraordinary man.
The likeness of the statue is uncanny and is a great piece of art in its own right.
Walking around Prague you will find some amazing statues and in some out of the way destinations.
We found this statue as we were visiting the wonderful pub U Hrocha ( at The Hippopotamus ) which is one amazing old pub,the statue is located on the same street.
Why not visit the statue then go and have a drink in honour of this most famous of Briton's ,I think Mr Churchill would approve.

Whilst this is an impressive statue, and of particular interest to the British, I wouldn't go out of my way to find it, as there are so many more important and interesting things to see in Prague!

Prague is the location of some really odd and attention-calling statues. This one is pretty usual when compared to Il Comendatore, for example.
