Neighborhood: Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.

- Nick S7 contributionsExcellent cocktail bar in heart of Old TownTruly excellent cocktail bar right in the heart of Prague Old Town. Cocktails were superb with a very wide variety of styles. Try to get a seat in the bar area and not the adjoining 'corridor' because the joy of this bar is sitting, sipping a wonderful drink whilst watching the musicians play some great music. Sitting in the 'corridor' feels like you're waiting for a bus so if you can persuade them to give you a seat in the main area - do it. Alcohol in Prague isn't expensive however do recognise that you're in a top flight cocktail bar so the prices are as per those in any major city around the world. Overall highly recommended.Visited February 2020Written February 12, 2020
- lilliraeturnerOffenham, United Kingdom19 contributionsThe best bar in Prague 😍🇨🇿AMAZING ! Black angles is a underground bar with lots of history. They serve over 200 cocktails. If you don't like anything on the menu they will make you whatever you want they can do anything nothing is too much for the bar staff. They are experts at what they do and have years of experience and knowledge they know the story behind every cocktail. We assumed it would be very expensive as it is a very nice bar but the pricing was actually very good. We went to black angels every single night we did try a few other bars but none of them compared. On our last night we tried the food which we ate in the bar it was delicious! Peter one of the bar men was brilliant and made us drinks based on what flavours we said we liked. Definitely recommend the knickobocker cocktail it was my favourite. You aren't aloud to take photos in the bar which is nice as there is more of a atmosphere as everyone is actually communicating. If we return to Prague we will be back thankyou black angels ! - Rachael A44 contributionsBeautiful drinks with an exclusive feeling in the barThe hotel bar is lovely, with a great and extensive cocktail menu, which the staff explained to customers and made recommendations. Cocktails were very nice, not standard cocktails you would get in any bar, felt very fancy. Feels exclusive/posh (we even got in trouble for trying to take a picture with flash on, as it ruins the 'mood' of the bar lol). But, in keeping with Prague prices, most cocktails were no more than £8/9 GBP, which is all you can ask for in a fancy, hotel bar in any city! Overall, would return definitely, drinks and locations were both lovely, and not too expensive in my opinionVisited December 2019Written January 22, 2020
- cnab711County Cork, Ireland9 contributionsPretentiousTo start positively the barman on the night was very talented and a delight to watch him go about his daily business. Certainly good at his job. However, the welcome and overall aura of the place leaves a lot to be desired. Felt uncomfortable for the duration of the visit. Had to wait to get in while being looked up and down by a very obnoxious, unfriendly, unwelcoming security guard. Once we got the go ahead we had to be led to a table (you’re not allowed a choice) where we were squeezed into a small corner and given a menu. Drinks totally overpriced for Prague and the whole hotel in general (UPrince) is a total rip off who try and scam tourists out of money. If you’re looking for a place with a bit of atmosphere I definitely wouldn’t recommend, dull with a total notion of arrogance!Visited February 2020Traveled with friendsWritten February 28, 2020
- yanet918Miami, Florida59 contributionsHidden gem in PragueWe stumble into Black Angels by coincidence. It was almost dark and we were looking for a place to have some drinks before dinner. After being there, we didn't want to leave. The place is beautiful, the bar was straight our of a 1920s movie, and we felt like having a drink with Al Capone or any of the other big personalities of the time. The waiters were very attentive and he was able to guide us throughout an extensive menu of cocktails and drinks. The pianist was a gifted musician and the whole ambience felt so magical. Needless to say we came back after dinner for another round. Shame for the no picture though, everything is so beautiful :(Visited February 2020Written March 1, 2020
- scidaBristol, United Kingdom107 contributionsInhospitable at BestVery disappointed with the bar in general, especially when compared to the hotel & rooftop bar. On entry you are restricted with a number of issues such as remove your jackets (unless you know the bar staff), sit where are told to (when asked for alternative free tables informed that you can’t seat there as air conditioning is too cold) & you are not allowed to take photos. After being stowed away in the cold corner, gave up & left. Without doubt the worst reception I’ve received in Prague; not returning.Visited February 2020Traveled with friendsWritten February 21, 2020
- MacKenzie TravelsSan Luis Obispo, California16 contributionsUnique bar with amazing cocktails!Loved this bar! Located underground in what was a medieval home of some sort, this feels like a real speakeasy. Cocktails were creative and delicious and the waiters/bartenders were super knowledgeable and helpful with recommendations. Ambiance was chill and romantic and music was great. We liked it because it doesn't attract large groups of drunken party people. It is right in the heart of Old town, hence the touristy comments, but in our experience it felt like a little hidden gem. We went early (around 5) so didn't have an issue with getting a table. If you live in the US in a big city you will appreciate the prices as well! - Travelgeek906 contributionsTourist-Trap bar with overpriced drinks and very unfriendl staffThe bar is located downstairs and the ambience is quite nice. But don't dry to take a photo, this is strictly forbidden, and a small asian woman who feels like the king of this bar will be very rude and unfriendly to you! The drinks were extremely small and of course overpriced, it is very dark and tight in this bar. No place to feel comfortable or have a good time, ypu better go somewhere else.Visited June 2022Traveled with friendsWritten July 12, 2022

Unique ambiance underground in a grotto like setting. Super romantic. They had a talented piano player with a wide genré of music. Service was great. Tomas was friendly and helpful with good suggestions. Highly recommend ordering one of their signature named cocktails. Each has a back story and a surprise associated with them. Really really great taste too. Love that they ask that no photos or videos be taken inside. Did sneak in a couple of just our drinks.Visited September 2021Traveled as a coupleWritten September 20, 2021

We were seated at the bar so were able to watch the barman at work, they are incredible at what they do. The barman was happy to talk us through the drinks list, we tried some of the more experimental cocktails and they were all amazing. We didn't experience any of the 'arrogance' that some of the reviews seem to refer to. Fantastic speakeasy-type cocktail bar in the basement of our hotel. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and explained (in perfect English) what we were ordering each time. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the pianist was great…although we wish we’d been able to hear better we couldn’t always make out what they were playing from what we were sat over the voices in there. Maybe a speaker or two would help?
We spent a few hours in here for our wedding anniversary, and liked it so much that we went back for one cocktail on our last night in Prague. Highly recommend, although you may want to book as on both nights we visited it did get full and some groups were turned away.

The bar is situated downstairs in a hotel just off the main square. Be careful on the steps going down as some are curved in. Amazing feel to this bar, dimly lit but with a cosy feel. Pleasant music plays at a nice volume giving it a speak-easy feel. The waiting staff are very attentive and knowledgable about the drinks which are mixed so smoothly. The menu is huge - guaranteed something for everybody. We visited a few times on our stay in Prague because we enjoyed it so much.

Cracking Bar. Feels like quite an exclusive place & not too busy. Your not allowed to take photos, which is a breath of fresh air, so that keeps away the crowds of giggling girls that just want to take selfies all night. They have the mantra, 'what happens in a bar, stays in a bar' ( according to the bartender) hence the no photo rule..
Bartenders cant do enough for you. Knowledgeable, friendly and if you can find anything on the menu you like they will make you pretty anything you want. Drinks are served in some pretty cool glasses too.
We came here twice and we found If you can grab a seat at the bar then you get pretty much the undivided attention from the bartenders all night.
A fella called Robert served us, and he was top class and made our night.
I would highly recommend a visit to this place whilst your in Prague, even just for 1 drink!

Wasn’t aware there was a HappyHour. And it’s not the cheapest bar but it’s worth visiting.

I think it's just drinks. Get reservations upstairs at U Prince Teresa for a stellar rooftop view for dinner afterwards.
