Neighborhood: Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.

- Ta-Ra-A-Bit51 contributionsFantastic cocktails, you get what you pay for!I found out about this place from a Facebook page for people visiting Prague which is ironic as this bar has a strict no photos/videos policy. How a business expects to contend these days without social media is shortsighted but leaving that aside….the cocktails are amazing. Tasty, quirky and strong. I had three different rum cocktails and all were amazing! Quick enough service, we were crammed in though as space limited to say the least. Decent music and general atmosphere. If you’re into cocktails- good quality ones - these worked out about £8 but they’re worth it in my book.Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 20, 2023
- Michael SBirmingham, United Kingdom7 contributionsQuirky Cocktail Bar - A Must Visit!Quirky and cool atmosphere with really good cocktails and service. Reasonably priced too, we had four cocktails and included a tip which came to CZK1,370 (£48). The waiter was really attentive, checked regularly if we were happy with the cocktails and service was really quick too. We were quite lucky that on the evening we visited, they had a fantastic pianist that made the atmosphere even better. We didn’t book and arrived at around 10pm on a Sunday evening and got a table quite easily but I’m not sure you would at ‘peak times’?! If you’re in the Old Town square and looking for a unique cocktail bar, I would definitely recommend Black Angel’s!Visited December 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten December 12, 2023
- Guy B4 contributionsGreat place with only one small fault.A lovely venue that tries hard to be exclusive and mysterious serving a huge variety of tasty cocktails. The experience was only marred by a few other people in the venue being allowed to tuck in to the standard food available upstairs which took away from the overall ‘special experience’ . In our case this meant being sat really close to two gentlemen tucking in to a couple of rather smelly pasta dishes. This might seem petty but bearing in mind the ‘booking required’ and ‘no photos’ policy the cross over between the standard upstairs experience and the mysterious downstate one didn’t quite work. That said I’d try it again and perhaps a separate light food menu could be considered for The Black Angels?Visited January 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten January 22, 2024
- Hilyf01111 contributionsGorgeous BarThe bar is situated in the U Prince hotel. It is a stunning bar. The quality of the cocktails were fantastic and reasonably priced for the surroundings. The guy who serviced us was friendly and I loved that he sat down with us to discuss drink options.Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten February 25, 2024
- Jordan MYork, United Kingdom36 contributionsA must for craft cocktail connoisseurs!I’ve previously worked in a few craft cocktail venues, and without trying to sound like a pretentious idiot, I do know what I like and what I consider good. Black Angel’s makes cocktails with substance and sophisticated flavour profiles. our server was clearly enthusiastic about providing us with what we like, and was very quick to recommend products and even off-menu items. I enjoyed an aviation-style drink which was so tasty that I had a few more, while my friend had various gin and amaretto cocktails. The venue is situated in a sea of really poor, commercial bars that don’t hold a candle to black angel’s, so make sure that if you’re in Prague old town you come here rather than anywhere else.Visited March 2024Traveled with friendsWritten March 24, 2024
- MLBlackpoolBlackpool, United Kingdom64 contributionsGreat hidden gemFound this bar by accident and is a real treat in the centre of Prague. Great atmospheric cocktail bar with an extensive menu. Excellent service and plenty of recommendations if you are unsure what you want. No pictures or phones are allowed while you are in the bar - this is to keep the atmosphere and not have people distracted by other taking pictures and to keep the conversation flowing. This definitely works and is a great policy to have. Definitely recommend for anyone visiting Prague.Visited March 2024Traveled with friendsWritten March 24, 2024
- Dee BMoorestown, New Jersey252 contributionsYummy CocktailsSuch a cool place to enjoy some original innovative cocktails! The menu is lengthy and reads like a book but we tried the Hemingway and the Angels Monastery and they were both delicious with a very cool presentation. Love piano music was a nice touch too!Visited March 2024Traveled with friendsWritten March 31, 2024
- MissGlobeTrotter24Ruswil, Switzerland42 contributionsAmazing Cocktails! We both love cocktails and like trying new drinks. We found this bar by accident while walking around Prague. We were here on a Thursday evening and were one of the first few people there. The bartender was very attentive. No photos are allowed, which we though odd at first - I was not sure what type of bar this is! But everything remained harmless. Live music at a piano bar added to the dreamy atmosphere. The drinks were amazing, tasted really good! Never to much ice or over-powering taste of one ingredient. Everything was perfectly balanced. Never too sweet. No cheap alcohol was used. We had 3 cocktails each.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 26, 2024
- Steve JDunbar, United Kingdom62 contributionsA seriously classy establishment, what a find!So pleased we found this place, one of the highlights of our trip. Beautiful decor, very tastefully done and not in a tacky touristy theme either. Great atmosphere in terms of dimmed lighting, with interior giving the feel we’d stepped back in time, all helped by live piano being played throughout most of the night – really set the tone. Finally the main event being the cocktails – a pretty significant selection to choose from. Have to say we tried a good few which all hit the spot, however great recommendations from Fabio really put a personal touch to the evening. Shame we can’t post any pics, but I like the fact they are maintaining a classy feel by not ramming punters into the bar area, by keeping it seating only and not turning it into a faddy 'Insta' destination. Well played!Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 3, 2024

This place is open late, it’s got good music and great drinks. I definitely recommend.Visited April 2024Traveled with friendsWritten May 3, 2024

To start positively the barman on the night was very talented and a delight to watch him go about his daily business. Certainly good at his job. However, the welcome and overall aura of the place leaves a lot to be desired. Felt uncomfortable for the duration of the visit. Had to wait to get in while being looked up and down by a very obnoxious, unfriendly, unwelcoming security guard. Once we got the go ahead we had to be led to a table (you’re not allowed a choice) where we were squeezed into a small corner and given a menu. Drinks totally overpriced for Prague and the whole hotel in general (UPrince) is a total rip off who try and scam tourists out of money. If you’re looking for a place with a bit of atmosphere I definitely wouldn’t recommend, dull with a total notion of arrogance!

We stumble into Black Angels by coincidence. It was almost dark and we were looking for a place to have some drinks before dinner. After being there, we didn't want to leave. The place is beautiful, the bar was straight our of a 1920s movie, and we felt like having a drink with Al Capone or any of the other big personalities of the time. The waiters were very attentive and he was able to guide us throughout an extensive menu of cocktails and drinks. The pianist was a gifted musician and the whole ambience felt so magical. Needless to say we came back after dinner for another round. Shame for the no picture though, everything is so beautiful :(

Very disappointed with the bar in general, especially when compared to the hotel & rooftop bar. On entry you are restricted with a number of issues such as remove your jackets (unless you know the bar staff), sit where are told to (when asked for alternative free tables informed that you can’t seat there as air conditioning is too cold) & you are not allowed to take photos. After being stowed away in the cold corner, gave up & left. Without doubt the worst reception I’ve received in Prague; not returning.

Loved this bar! Located underground in what was a medieval home of some sort, this feels like a real speakeasy. Cocktails were creative and delicious and the waiters/bartenders were super knowledgeable and helpful with recommendations. Ambiance was chill and romantic and music was great. We liked it because it doesn't attract large groups of drunken party people. It is right in the heart of Old town, hence the touristy comments, but in our experience it felt like a little hidden gem. We went early (around 5) so didn't have an issue with getting a table. If you live in the US in a big city you will appreciate the prices as well! No pics allowed but trust the photos on website.

The bar is located downstairs and the ambience is quite nice. But don't dry to take a photo, this is strictly forbidden, and a small asian woman who feels like the king of this bar will be very rude and unfriendly to you!
The drinks were extremely small and of course overpriced, it is very dark and tight in this bar. No place to feel comfortable or have a good time, ypu better go somewhere else.

By far the best cocktail bar in Europe. Went there for after dinner drinks 3 nights in a row. Unique ambiance underground in a grotto like setting. Super romantic. They had a talented piano player with a wide genré of music.
Service was great. Tomas was friendly and helpful with good suggestions. Highly recommend ordering one of their signature named cocktails. Each has a back story and a surprise associated with them. Really really great taste too.
Love that they ask that no photos or videos be taken inside. Did sneak in a couple of just our drinks.

Me and my girlfriend went here for an evening on the recommendation of a friend and weren't disappointed!
We were seated at the bar so were able to watch the barman at work, they are incredible at what they do.
The barman was happy to talk us through the drinks list, we tried some of the more experimental cocktails and they were all amazing.
We didn't experience any of the 'arrogance' that some of the reviews seem to refer to.
Had a brilliant night, and would recommend to anyone who enjoys great tasting creative cocktails.

Fantastic speakeasy-type cocktail bar in the basement of our hotel. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and explained (in perfect English) what we were ordering each time. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the pianist was great…although we wish we’d been able to hear better we couldn’t always make out what they were playing from what we were sat over the voices in there. Maybe a speaker or two would help?
We spent a few hours in here for our wedding anniversary, and liked it so much that we went back for one cocktail on our last night in Prague. Highly recommend, although you may want to book as on both nights we visited it did get full and some groups were turned away.

The bar is situated downstairs in a hotel just off the main square. Be careful on the steps going down as some are curved in. Amazing feel to this bar, dimly lit but with a cosy feel. Pleasant music plays at a nice volume giving it a speak-easy feel. The waiting staff are very attentive and knowledgable about the drinks which are mixed so smoothly. The menu is huge - guaranteed something for everybody. We visited a few times on our stay in Prague because we enjoyed it so much.

How long does happy hour last for and what price are the drinks then? Thanks

Wasn’t aware there was a HappyHour. And it’s not the cheapest bar but it’s worth visiting.

Do they serve food here or is it just drinks.
Thanks in advance

I think it's just drinks. Get reservations upstairs at U Prince Teresa for a stellar rooftop view for dinner afterwards.
