We visited Strelecky Island on a Sunday afternoon, it was lovely to take a walk around the island on a sunny day. There are food and drink stalls on the island but be aware that they only take cash. Also look out for the Nutria on the banks or taking a swim.

We wanted to visit the island due to it links to the INXS video for Never Tear us Apart. Its easily accessible and was a pleasant surprise being so quite. Of course we visited in the quiet season but a worth 30 minutes or so out of your tourist walking day. Bring a snack and jsut sit and enjoy the wildlife. Saw our first ever wild COYPU family playing in the river and these tame odd looking creatures come right up to you looking for food. They are often mistaken for beavers or otters but are a seperate species. Enjoyed the walk around with family and friends.

Green beautiful island in the middle of the Prague. When you feel that you would soon start strangling other tourists it is the best place to seat on the grass with beer and take the rest, relax, forget...

Visited here the night before the wedding as a meet and greet night - fantastic place down by the river. Arrived too late for the BBQ but they managed to make me a schnitzel with boiled potatoes - delicious. The view across the river at night is breathtaking. Beer is a little expensive but cheaper than wine. All in all a lovely evening.

Great place to go to avoid the crowds, a quiet and lovely park on the river. Nice to walk round, and has a nice little coffee shop to relax at. Lovely atmosphere at night too when fairy lights come on in the park, and together with the views of the city lights and the paddle boats, it becomes a very romantic place.

This was a nice place to take some time to walk and sit on a nice Spring day. Lots of room and places to sit and watch the other people and the people taking advantage of the water fun.

We rented the pedal boat and did not get the motor. It was a work out for my daughter and her friend but I enjoyed the ride. Make sure you steer the boat to the bar just past where you rent the boat and they will serve you beer and cider at you boat. This is a must. Beer was less than $3.

Well there was not many of the island when we were there and that feels odd due to the fact that it is a really nice island. The castle in the middle is a magnificent building and there are boat rentals on the island if you like that. There are also places to purchase drinks and snacks. There are plenty of park benches and no tourists present when we were there. The walk along side the river is nice and getting out to the island is a nice feature. The calmest place we found in Prague. The view over the bridges are nice. It is the last part of Prague I will forget and well worth a visit.

Went down to this little island in the middle of the Vltava river to see a concert. It was actually held on a boat docked next to the island. It is peaceful and lovely offers a few places to get something to eat or drink, summer cinema and some spectacular view over the castle and Charles bridge. The paths have recently been redone and the whole island is somewhat cleaner and nicer than it used to be a few years ago. It is a shame though that it closes at 10pm.
