Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.

What can I say, it's like a cross between a strudel and a sweet pastry, spectacular in all honesty, we had a few of these during our visit to Prague, a plain and ones with nutella and caramel scraped inside it !! very messy to eat but worth it trust me, when in Prague you'll see dozens of these shops / stalls selling them in the traditional way, quite impressive how they make and cook them. Enjoy.

We had Trdelnik while in the Jewish quarters. The shop had a big green door and said Kosher. It was fantastic. My husband and I shared one with chocolate, bananas and creme. It was delicious!

Not a traditional Bohemian 'treat' avoid. Massively over-priced and not really that nice - just pure sugar.

Sorry, I don't care for the ice cream ones....the dough needs to be warm as originally intended....$5 for a scoop of ice cream and some dough.
Nope, no need to try the ice cream one again.

I saw lots of stands selling these, and thought I would give them a go. They have varieties of fillings, or you can have them plain. They can be quite pricey. I tried mine with ice cream, and was disappointed. Not for me.

Was just ok. Had much better. AND told them to charge me in Czeck Koruna but charged me in USD so cost me an additional $1. Not a big deal but they do this to everyone and it adds up. Scammers.

Trdelník is a traditional sweet in eastern Europe, I think they come from Hungary, but they're cooked in the Czech Republic too. I LOVE them, you can choose different flavours and fillings, but my favourite is definitely sugar and cinnamon. There are lots of shops cooking them all day long, quality is good almost everywhere.

The cake is grilled and dusted with a mixture of spice, sugar, and walnut. Trdelnik tastes yum when served hot.

It's a traditional Slovak rolled pastry originating from the Hungarian-speaking region of Transylvania, the trdelník is usually served warm and topped with a dusting of sugar, nuts or cinnamon. It's made by wrapping the pastry dough around a wooden or metal stick, roasting it over an open flame and coated with sugar or cinnamon. Watching this pastry being prepared is a fascinating sight. A common Prague street food, you can easily find stalls selling this treat along streets and open squares everywhere around any time of the year. It usually costs around 4-5€.
