Neighborhood: Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.

As one of the oldest continuously brewing brewpubs in the world ,this brewpub has been brewing and serving beer since 1466 ,U Medvidku ( At The Little Bear's ) is a pub I always visit on any trip to Prague I take,I've been visiting Prague for close to 30 years so I've been here quite a few times and my latest visit was as good as ever.
I love the look of this pub,interior is superb,set over two floors,multi roomed,great decor and furnishings including ancient brewing equipment on the second floor,there's also plenty of seating options ,it's just a great pub to unwind in.
My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Monday early afternoon,pub was busy with a great atmosphere ,we ordered beers ,these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and with the distinctive foamy head so characteristic of the way Czech beer is poured and served ,we just kicked back and took in the great pub we were in.
My beer was really good,a light,hoppy and unpretentious lager style beer bursting with taste,it was just so good being in such a great pub enjoying a refreshing beer.
We really enjoyed our beers in here and the great vibe so much so that we ended up staying for another beer each before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time.
U Medvidku is easy to locate along Na Perstne .
Opening hours are;
Monday to Sunday ,open from 11am.
Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

If there's one pub I know I'm going to visit on any holiday I take to this fascinating city its U Medvidku.
This is one of the oldest pubs in Prague, dating from 1466 ,this pub is multi roomed, brew vats on display in the back rooms ,pubby decor and furnishings, a cool looking serving bar, big screens to enjoy the sport, a souvenir shop and there's plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, its just a great pub to unwind in.
We were here on a Thursday night, Sparta Prague v Liverpool F.C ( 1.5 ) being shown on the big screens, pub was packed, we very luckily managed to get a table were a very pleasant member of the bar team served us beers from Pilsner Urquell Brewery, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and with the distinctive foamy head so characteristic of the way Czech beer is poured, we chilled out and enjoyed the football while we sipped our beers.
A big fan of this most famous of Czech beers, its a golden, light and hoppy lager style beer bursting with taste and very easy to drink especially when served freezing cold as in this pub, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality brew and sat with my twin brother, best beer companion in the world.
We really enjoyed our beers in here, we stayed for two each plus a becherovka before we moved on and as on every previous visit to here we had a great time.
U Medvidku is easy to locate along Na Perstyne, a street and area teeming with pubs, bars, cafe's and restaurants and some amazing architecture and a major tourist destination.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Sunday, open from 11.30am.
Well worth checking out if you're in the Old Town of Prague.

This place is popular with the locals and we loved it also. Came here for lunch on 4 out of 5 of our days in Prague.

Beer and food delicious, good atmosphere and friendly waiters.

Full marks for all. Try the goulash it’s delicious, don’t have a photo of it as we tucked in too quickly

Super busy place so this makes the workers of the place behaving rude towards tourists.

We had the noodle soup & half metre sauage.

Soup was very blend but warm enough. Sauasage was blend too, so average.

Wanted to try this place after its rating but its a tourist trap place...

Lastly, visitors are allowed to smoke indoors and many take advantage of this. This restaurant was under a cloud of smoke. If you have children and non-somker AVOID this place.

Personal is arogant, food was ok - less than avarage.. Nobody asked us nothing, when we complained the waiter during the communication just simply turned round and went. The same with paying, he gave us back wrong amount of money. We didnt let them tip, they dont tell us bye at the end. I cannot reccomend this place.

Recommended by the tourist guide (le routard) but we'll have to contact them to seriously reconsider because it's not worth it to come and have dinner here. Food is ok but not to recommend to others. Have had much better for less money. Service is not more than the minimum. A smile here and there wouldn't be such a bad idea. Very noisy because it's a big place and on top of that when we wanted to pay, it was stressed out very explicitly that tips for the service are not included. If you then just want to pay the bill without giving a tip, the waiter asks annoyed what the problem is. Conclusion: you leave in a bad embarrassed mood. Such a shame

The people who work there were so rude. I don’t know the beer or food but never recommend to be there if you expect kindness

This place is serves as a brewery and traditional Czech dining. Although I find the food to be quite good and the prices average, the customer service is very hit-or-miss. Many of the servers have an aversion to foreigners, and definitely don't go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. However, I have brought guests visiting Prague here in the past for a nice local meal, and would probably go back again because of the overall atmosphere of the restaurant and low prices.

I visit Prague regularly. I'm not fluent in Czech but everywhere I go my request for two beers please in Czech is understood. Not here. We've just encountered wait staff who insisted we repeat our order in English before she would process it, and had the attitude which suggested we were ruining her day. It's always hopeless service in here and I can't think why I've ended up in here again. No fool like an old fool I suppose. Avoid.

The staff must be underpaid they are so angry.... But that being said even thou I had to fight with my daughter to stay as she was mad at the rude staff I totally enjoyed my dark beer and amazing streudle.... It was so delicious and came with whipped cream. I personally would order it without the chocolate as it ruins the simple flavor. They have a brew icecream I would like to try.... So I will probably be back.

They do have some live music which was nice and outdoor seating. But wifi only in the front few tables..... Was a pain getting wifi had to deal with a bunch of rude staff.... Needed to let my husband know where we ended up for beer so took some persistence on my part....
