A fun way to spend a Saturday morning. It’s especially great if you have your own kitchen and are doing some cooking. There were also a lot of booths with take-away food that looked very good although I didn’t try them.

A superb market where the locals actually go with baskets to buy their groceries and flowers. Not a sign of the usual imported cheap tat that often passes for farmers markets, but wonderful cakes and other foodstuffs. A really great way to spend Saturday morning
Having done my research, this market was on the top of my To Do List, even more so since it was a short walk from our Hotel.
Since our room wasnt ready due to the late check ins in the hotels, we dropped our luggage...More

Hello and thank you for your review. However, you probably rated the food festival and not the farmer's market on the other side of the river. It is so?
Nice market along the river. So many options to eat there, or items to take with you for later in the day. No souvenir type items if that's what you're looking for. Its all about food. Lines for coffee if you're in that kind of...More

An interesting farmer's market where meat, fish, sausages, coffee and many more are sold. It is extremely lively and takes place on Saturday morning. It is close to the pier from where the boats depart to the zoo.
We went this morning at around 9am. It was actually quite small compared to what we were anticipating. Nonetheless, there are some tasty treats. We particularly liked one stall where a man is selling cinnamon breads and square pasteries.

the farmer's market seemed to you a small, because that day was exceptionally scaled down because of the beer festival that took place in its usual place.

As the market is (at least for me) central Prague, you can get there walking from the city center. Tthis is pretty nice and short walk, i do not know how fast you can walk but it is not more than 30 minutes of walking from, lets say, Wenceslaw Square or Charles Bridge. And it is on the right side of the river, using the same logic as in Paris, for example.
It is also near the subway station "Karlovo namesti" (exit Palackeho namesti) and near the tram stops "Palackeho namesti" or "Vyton" (trams numner 3, 7, 17 and maybe some more). I prefer Vyton, there are some nice cafes around. Just on the corner near the stop they offer delicious ice-cream, one of the best in Prague...
