It took about 2 hrs by coach from Prague, first thing come to my mind is to relax and enjoy, I love the historical building, they are colourful and charming, the shopping mall is great, those cups used for drinking mineral water from tap on sales are nice and not expensive, not regretting been there

Beautiful town, having the feeling that you have returned in the past, but in the same time something new of the modern times is built in this place. Old, but new, friendly and full of hapiness, a lot of restaurants, lot of old buildings....expensive for all the services but it worth.

We took the Karlovy Vary tour with Martin Tours. We were together with Spanish, Englisn and Russian speaking tourists, and the guide didn’t speak well at least Spanish and English. Russian I don’t know … We were disappointed with the guide, as we are used to be informed about the country, the regions we are crossing (during the 2 hour... More

We visited Karlovy Vary for the day during the International Film Festival. While apparently half of Prague was there too - it was bustling, but not packed. Beautiful architecture on both sides of the waterway, many restaurants, interesting window shopping (boutiques can workout your credit cards) and overall a marvellous ambiance. I loved the musical instrument on the pavement where... More

I wish I hadn't traveled 4 hours by bus to see this. I expected a pleasant town in the beautiful countryside with some baths and Victorian era buildings. What I had no idea I would encounter was the crowds. The buses dump you outside of town and then you get totally sandwiched on a tram that lets you off in... More

We took a Martin Tours day trip to Karlovy Vary because we had heard so much about it. Our guide gave the talk in 3-4 languages which takes lots of time. The driver was speeding all the way. The guide was just ok going through the motions. We got to see the Moser glass store, museum and factory. It was... More

We wanted to do a trip away from Prague and read reports of Karlovy Vary on Trip Advisor. Checked with hotel on how to get there and were told to catch the Student Agency Express bus at Dejvicka, the western terminus of the A Metro route. The buses run each half hour. No trouble to get there by tram and... More

this quite expensive tour was extremely disappointing and extraordinarily frustrating. 1. the tour was a multi-lingual one, but in 3 different languages! english, spanish and french. 2 at most is OK. but 3 was extremely frustrating! we missed half the tour because the tour leader was too busy regurgitating the same thing 3 times! 2. the tour guide was drunk... We booked a daily tour to Karlovy Vary with BEST Travel agency, recommended by the hotel. We had booked a tour with a mini bus with lunch and english speaking guide. Indeed we were collected by a mini bus (a total wreck) from our hotel but then they put us in a big bus along with 50 other tourists who... More

Karlovy Vary is unbelievable town with funny houses like toys. it remined me of Cannes. Suggestions about shopping - souvenirs like amber, crystal, marionettes, Karlovy Vary cosmetics (very natural and useful for health), of course, becherovka

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
