Although it was a bit chilly, in the end I was glad I did the tour "Od šachet k jezerům" ("From mining pits to lakes") in mid February. The snow-covered landscape of the vast ČSA brown-coal surface mine was especially atmospheric and the views from Chateau Jezeří were spectacular. Martin was a very personable and engaging guide and, in addition to extensive historical and technical knowledge, he supplied us with countless anecdotes (he had himself worked in the mine a few years ago). Together with Karel, they did an amazing job. Everything was well-timed and perfectly organized. Highly recommended to anyone interested in the complex history and rugged beauty of this often overlooked area of the the Czech Republic.

Very entertaining and informative trip. All was perfectly organized with super-friendly guide Martin who provided instant flow of information about history geology etc. we visited interesting places and beautiful landscape overlooks. 5star experience!

Very informative tour into mining location and quarry. Basically any question you have gets answered in an interesting way. You learn about surface mining aswell as deep tunnel mining. The weather wasn’t the best but it only deepened the atmosphere of the locations. 👌🏼

The Doupov mountains are unreal, as are the guides who have enormous knowledge. The views of the countryside with visibility of up to 70 km are wonderful. We saw the landscape from Klinovce through Měděnec, Ústí nad Labem, the České stredohoří and to the Říp. Beautiful and untouched nature. North Bohemia 100 years ago and today it is a completely different country.

This trip was a birthday present from my sister. Martin prepared for me
an educational journey through old, forgotten and interesting graveyards in the local part of the Bohemian landscape.
His interpretation had historical and architectural connections. Martin spoke engagingly and was able to answer all my questions. Geomorphological information about the nature of the Bohemian landscape was a valuable bonus when moving between locations. We ended the day in an excellent local restaurant. A wonderful, interesting and very unusual trip, for what I really thank him so much. I enjoyed very well.

I was on this trip with my granddaughter. I wanted her to get to know the industrial landscape, the history of coal mining, etc... Mr. Bareš's presentation was very interesting and inspiring. We've have opportunity to see last rest of minning, and what the future lake landscape will look like.

We had a wonderful experience on this tour!. The winery was beautiful, and we enjoyed the festive wine-tasting! The winery tour was so interesting, too, and the French Oak barrels were impressive! The ride in the country with views of vineyards, castles on hills, the Jewish cemetery, and all other sights was so enjoyable, too. Lunch was delicious, and we lived the atmosphere of the venue.
Our tour guide Martin was outstanding. He really made the tour one of the best experiences we had on our Czech Republic vacation. He provided so much historical and current information about the Czech Republic and its rich history and other locations as well. He was knowledgeable and entertaining and charming and showed such a passion for everything he shared about the sights on the tour.
Thanks to Martin for everything!
We also had a positive experience with our transporter Nicolai and our host at the winery.
I highly recommend this tour for anyone! I’d do it again if return to Prague.

The trip was much better than we expected! Our driver provided us a perfect service as well as a complete information from his deep knowledge about every locality that we visited. We would love to go to Džbán district and Kounovské řady again! Thank you.

It was a wonderful day to spend a day in the "České středohoří "; beautiful countryside with interesting Czech nature, in the protected landscape, so call CHKO, we see in nature crickets ( beetles), protected plants, we also visited the very good restaurant, the best table for an abundant Czech lunch and local wheat beers. Big thanks Martin for providing a knowledgeable, well rounded day trip adapted to our interest in history of this bohemian region. Our experience with panning czech grenades was also very interesting. Martin is the professional, he can answer all your every inquisitive question. Highly recommended to all.

Excellent trip with very interesting information, full of deep contextual interlinkings and extraordinary experiencies. The guide is very pleasant, communicative and attentive to the needs of the guests. I highly recommend it for visitors to the region as well as for locals who will learn unseen interesting facts about their unique surroundings.
