About
BOTAS 66 represents a lifestyle label of traditional Czech footwear brand Botas. Its founding was initiated in 2008 by graphic designers Jan Kloss and Jakub Korouš within a school project at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. It is based on the iconic sport model Botas Classic launched on the Czechoslovak market in 1966, whose simple shape and timeless solution became popular enough that the term "botas shoes" has become synonymous for any sport shoes in Czech. At present, BOTAS 66 has to account for 4 dimensional lines linked to the history of the brand Botas - next to the legend-inspired Classic these are Mid, Run and Urban - and more than 100 different colour designs. There are two official stores in Prague called B TEAM and they are run directly by the original brand initiators and designers. One is located in the city centre Skořepka 4, Prague 1 – Old Town and the other on the address Křížkovského 18, Prague 3 – Žižkov.

If you walk up-to the hideous monstrosity that is the the television mast that towers over Prague you may come across this little store hidden away on the corner of one of the apartment blocks that surrounds the mast.
Botas 66 are hand made sneakers from the communist era that have been given a fresh modern face lift and, whilst still basic compared to today's trainers, have a lovely nostalgic look and feel to them.
Bright and colourful or more toned down grab a pair to take home with you and stand out from the crowd.

My husband and I researched this shop and its products before we visited Prague. We battled a bit to find it as locals didn’t know what we were talking about. We finally found it and left with a lovely pair of sneakers which fitted perfectly and my husband was thrilled with it. They are of great quality and the price is very competitive compared to other global brands. I really think this is one of the most functional souvenirs we’ve ever purchased. I would be happy to revisit them or buy online in future.

The trainers look and feel amazing. Good quality and funky colours too.
The staff are lack lustre and need a strong(er) coffee.
Unfortunately, they didnt have my size 44/45 in anything i chose in either of the stores. in Prague. Shame as i would have bought a few pairs!

These shoes fall apart very quickly and after very little wear. The "guarantee" requires the customer to pay to return the shoes, which if you live outside of the Czech Republic costs more than half of the value of the shoe itself. They are cute shoes but not worth the cost. Recommend shopping elsewhere.

I went decided to buy some shoes to their shop in the center Skořepka 4, 110 00 Staré Město I saw in internet and the couple that was working in the shop eating a burrito (I perfectly saw the burrito getting in their stomachs) did not say even hello or anything, they walked around us throwing things, I assumed was disturbing for them that we interrupted their private lunch.
But not happy with ignoring us or ask if we need some help, when we decided to leave the guy (was a guy and girl, she was moving the stuff around and he just eating over the cash desk) said Goodbye in a sarcastic and smiling tone.
So event they have a very good looking shoes in acceptable price I would buy something else. If I will spend 2000kc in shoes I would like at least, hello, can I help you?.

Yes shows are good very unique and great souvenir from Prague. Myself Czech native I have few pairs. However the service received is something soooo BAD that I have to share
1. Music, music in this store is absolutely unsuitable for shop I have been there few times and each time music is so awful that I look forward to leave the store (my husband step out after a minute in store since he could not take it)
2. Sales person was wearing Vans or Converse show which is at least to say super odd and show lack or trust in the brand itself
3. They had to shopping to bag to put the shoes into (the only had a cotton one which was for to buy for 125 czk for shows which cost 2000 czk its unavailable (girl suggested that I carry the shoe box around sightseeing Prague)
4. Girl at the counter also had some nasty comments towards me I quote (it is stupid to try on the shoes without laces)
I strongly suggest to be really successful to change or train better the sales people as it does ruin the experience for the shoppers or move your operation online

This shop was recommended by our tour guide. Apparently, these shoes (Botas) were the only sports shoes allowed during the communist era and two local designers recently resurrected them with a twist. Tons of funky colors. These shoes are major head-turners. We bought two pairs and I wore mine the rest of the trip! Only bummer is we weren’t given a tax refund form and didn’t realize we needed the form until we got to the airport. All in all, grab a pair of these for a unique souvenir and don’t forget to ask for a tax refund form.

I recently visited the Botas 66 store at Skořepka 4, in Prague old town. Had to do some real searching to get there but the shoes are well worth it.what made it interesting is that it's a local brand with an amazing array of colours and names for their designs. The quality is good with globally accepted sizes. Prices are slightly on the steeper side when you convert them to your local currency, in my case INR. I picked up 2 pairs and really loved the mix of colours. A steady stream of customers with only one Attendant who did billing as well was a real drawback. He made no attempt to hide his irritation when customers asked him for more options. Beautiful shoes coupled with good customer service would have gone a long way.... Czech Originals...
If you love colour then Botas 66 it is.

We were SO excited about these legendary shoes. I’m a sneaker lover and both hubby and I were ready for a comfy new cool pair during this trip of a million steps.
I just wasn’t impressed. The retro style meant limited width so for his feet (normally an average men’s width) the toe box and arch width weren’t comfortable.
For me, I tried them on- cute enough I suppose but not enough to spend $100 USD to get home to the states with no idea how/if they’ll last.
Arch support and cushion was minimal- they weren’t flimsy but when I put them on, I didn’t care if I left them on. Perhaps they break in to be comfy, but these days I’ll gladly pay double to have them comfy on day 1.
I wish I could have justified the cost, and taken the risk- I was rather excited to go back to work (where sneakers are king) and show off these cool shoes, send some international business to them. But in the end, I didn’t have enough of a good feeling to take the risk.
Salesperson was ok, but only to grab a size, so no help there. Bubble burst on this one.

Has the store shifted? Is it in the heart of Prague? How far is the store from the main city?

Hi Ravi, I am sorry for my late answer, I haven't noticed it before. The store has not shifted – there are now 2 BOTAS 66 stores in Prague:
Skořepka 4, Prague 1 – Old Town (located in the very city centre)
Křížkovského 3, Prague 3 – Žižkov (located in an interesting vibrant quarter some 15 minuted from the city centre by public transport)
