About
In the biggest and only beer museum in Prague you will not only see what makes Czech beer great! You will also taste 3 fine Czech beers! You will start with welcome beer poured by our brewmaster, and with your senses already stimulated you can start the tour. You will learn about the history and secrets behind making beer. Along the way you will learn from historical artifacts and video presentations. Our brewery model will explain to you how malt and beer is made. You can experience the smell of hops and barley. The tour would not be complete without beer tasting. In beautiful 13th century cellars, you can enjoy another two Czech beers, served to you by automatic machine in our Beer Chapel. And also you can bottle your beerm close it and make your name label for it. What a souvenir.

It is situated in the old part of the town square. As you walk in through the archway you go straight ahead to get your entrance ticket. It is value for money. You then go to the museum which covers Czech beer history but also world wide to compare. It looks at how the brewery side, and there are samples to smell. An installation shows briefly how the process is. It also covers some collectors items etc. The next part is down the basement and you need to climb a few stairs. It is minor, so if you are unable to climb the steps, or suffers from claustrophobia, you can miss this part and still get a good experience. As it was, my friend, felt it was too narrow for her, so she sat outside on the bench, and when I handed over my tokens for beer samples, four each, were put in a basket, and the staff carried these outside for us. We spend a good hour savouring the different tastes of beer. I then went downstairs to hand in the holder with the glasses. It offers some souvenirs too. It was such as cosy and relaxing thing to do on a Sunday. I have been to other breweries before, and in comparison, I really liked this style as not too overwhelming nor touristic, and all in your own pace. Well worth it!

Ok so it’s not the most modern beer museum we’ve been to but we both came away knowing more about Czech beer and it’s history especially the Budvar V Budweiser story. We enjoyed seeing how beer is developed through the ages, specifically in Prague.
Finished off the trip by sampling 4 beers in the cellar of the museum which was worth it alone just to try 4 very different beers. The two guys who served us knew their stuff and explained a little about each beer including which order to try them in. There was even more information on the tables if needed. All in all I’d say if you’re here for a few days and have an afternoon spare it’s worth popping in.

A nice little beer museum. We had a selection of four half pints which were all very good. We finished up by being able to bottle our own beer to take home with a beer name of our choice.

Don’t waste your money and time in this place because it is totally not worth it. It was so bad. There is nothing to see and nobody explains anything. Personnel is very rude, not professional at all. The mannequins in there were creepy but they probably had more fun than us. Not interesting and everything in there looked fake. We definitely regret it. It’s a scam, you can find better places even for cheaper.

We wasted 2 hours (of our short stay in Prague) walking to this place, only to find it doesn’t open every day of the week, despite what is stated on their website. We met other disappointed visitors at the entrance. This lack of communication is unforgivable.

I'm sure others will really enjoy the museum. But for us there was way to much reading. We expected it to be more interactive and we're disappointed. I feel if we had taken the guided tour option we would have probably enjoyed it more. The beer at the end was a nice touch, however we weren't told anything about them and was just left to drink them and go.

Nothing much to the museum. As was stated earlier basically paying for four beers. It could be me, but I was expecting more (variety that is) than four different lagers. The experience and beer felt a bit ho-hum.

Hello, please can you tell me when this happened? Because for us it is a surprise. We close at 20,00 with last people to get in for the tour is 18:45 that is our rule. And also I am wondering what do you mean by inadequate people???? Or did you go to place called Prague Beer Museum PUB, which is a bar next to Karlovy Lazne? We are not linked with this place at all, we are real museum. Thanks for yor reply. Ludek

Nothing to see really. Just some old bottles and some barley. This place is the classical definition of a tourist trap. But at least you get to try some beers and they were quite good.
