Praha castle in the summer is crowded of turists. Most of them, however seems to not pay attention to this amazing museum. The only private palace inside the castle has an awsome collection that allows the visitor to learn the cultural and political history of Europe and Czech Republic through the perspective of one family, the Lobkowiczs. Best museum I... More

Lobkowicz palace is remarkably preserved, well organised, attractive touristic site. Full package provides wonderful historical journey: museum, panorama with audio guides and beautiful midday concert of classical music. Audio material helps remember this place and main elements of this family history. More interestingly it is maintained and tour is designed by trough inherents of the nobel family. Good place to... Definitely a must when visiting Prague. Unique experience with the Panorama (Prague historical tour from the Lobkowicz palace terrace) where you can learn so much in 30 mn and in a unique location. Definitely the best introduction to Prague and Czech history, in such a beautiful and personalized way. Unique experience with the concert. Feeling like you are invited in... More

Palace put on a lunch for us, a music concert and then we were on the self guided tour with provided equipment, and could tour at our own speed.

Had dinner here as part of a Tauck group tour. Toured the museum afterwards. The music room was the highlight, with compositions on view from famous composers - when you,had to,write everything out by hand!

If you are an art or history buff, this place has an amazing collection of art and even original scores from Beethoven in his own hand. Priceless.

We were hoping to see more art than we did, but most of the rooms in the gallery were dedicated to telling the story of the Lobkowicz family. However I'm glaad we did visit because we attended a lunchtime concert there and did see a couple of beautiful Canalettos and a fantastic Pieter Breughel the Elder painting.

What a wonderful exhibition! The audio tour helped set everything in its right context and made the visit even more rewarding. Seeing the original sheet music was a great experience. This was the best museum I have visited in a long time. Thank you.

We took the tour which included lunch, a concert and touring the exhibits. First the lunch was very very good; restaurant quality. Then, the concert was a trio - piano, violin and cello. We are both classical musicians and thought the playing was first rate. And the palace concert room was perfect in representing a venue in Europe in the... More

Again, one of the Palaces of the Castle complex. Thus one is a little bit different. Instead of being government owned, it belongs to a family who managed to take their ancestral palace back from the government occupation. Quite a story that is. Especially after the palace had been with the communist regime for quite a number of years. You... More

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighborhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
