There really are no beaches in Prague. The name was created by tourists and it stuck. The biggest attraction here are the swans. Black and white photos of the swans with the Charles bridge in the background always turn out beautiful.
The swans are not shy. They have a good life here. People enjoy feeding them. Sometimes the swans can be a bit aggressive, looking to get to the food in peoples hands.
Never the same, but always beautiful are the photos taken from this spot.
Day, or night in any season ....

Great family time!!
tip for those with big children tire them at the controls of the pedalo and relax!!!
The view is nice.
Still the exchange rate is very local.
Clearly an added value is applied on the rate if you pay in €, 1000kc or 15€ which ultimately turns into 18€.
At the same time I think it applies everywhere.
Anyway here is a highly recommended activity to relax.

The swans share the river with the ducks. You can really get close to the water here and the swans come out of the water to be fed.
What surprised me was that it is allowed. There is actually a sign asking people to bring food. That I think is new.
So there you go, go prepared, take something with you from the hotel buffet and feed the swans.
It's fun for the young and old ...

We were walking back from the Franz Kafka museum and saw a nice view of the bridge from the road so walked down and had a look.
Its not a beach perse, just a rocky back on the river.
There were a lot of ducks and swans down below with people taking photos of these.
We just stayed up on the edge of the built area and took some photos of the Charles Bridge. Its a nice view and different angle of the bridge.
Not a must see when in Prague but if you stumble upon it, you get a nice view of the river and Bridge.

A beach where you can feed fearless swans and ducks from your hands!! Make sure to bring bread or vegetables to feed them (for those worried for animal welfare, there is a municipal sign asking you to feed them). You've never seen something like it! A definite MUST!

It was news to me that there is a beach in Prague. Not sure who came up with this name for the short stretch of ground by the river that could be easily accessed from the Kampa park. It was not called beach when I was living just steps away from there years ago. The swans were always there but not nearly as many as there are today. We stop by every time we are in Prague and take some of the most beautiful black and white photos there. It is beautiful in every season.

there are many ducks, swans etc., and some of them are very friendly. They eat food from our hand. Wash your hands well when you touch. It is not proper to take your dog to here.

Vltava Beach sounds something it isn't...the name beach conjures up images of a pretty golden sandy area and might raise false expectations - however what it lacks in golden sand it more than makes up for in views and birdlife.
It is really just a small spot by the river, but it's usually easily spotted by the many swans that frequent there. Take a short walk onto the beach and you get an amazing view of Charles Bridge and all the river activities and boats passing by. Well worth dropping in. if only for a few moments.

We visited Prague with the kids, and they were amazed by the number of swans found on the beach. All of the swans are tagged and cared for, and, most importantly, accustomed to people, so the kids were running around and between them. A great experience, enhanced by the views of the Vltava and all the bridges. You can access it from Manesuv most.
