Neighborhood: Malá Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.

My lovely wife and I visited this subterranean jazz club one evening during our trip to Prague. It's a tiny place with seating for maybe 30 people at a squeeze. When we visited there were probably around half that many, almost all of whom were foreigners. If you're looking for a happening jazz club packed with locals this, alas, is not it!
The three guys on piano, double bass and drums put on a pretty good show but I'm not sure it was really worth the 200 Kč admission fee especially as one of my local pubs puts on better jazz outfits for free several times a week. I wouldn't return and I wouldn't recommend it.

Me and a couple of my friends were always coming there, whenever we were in Prague. We use to come there because the club had a nice atmosphere and good beer ( Velvet ), eventhough the prices were higher than in other bars in Prague. However, the last time, when we asked for the check and about to leave, the check just wasn't right,it had, like 10 more drinks then we had...To make a long story short,we called the police, they came quickly and said - it's their word against ours and that there was nothing they could do and that we should pay. That being said, the check could be even worse, and there would still be nothing that we could do.So,we paid and we left. I just felt compelled to at least write this complaint and critic wherever on the Internet.Thank you for reading.

Small, dark, intimate. Exactly how a jazz club should be. It’s tiny so book before hand if you’re going on a busy evening. The staff are friendly and attentive and have a great sense of humour as I found when trying to pronounce the wine in the local lingo! There’s a bar upstairs for pre/drinks & a good menu of local foods. You can eat either upstairs or down while enjoying the music. Please note, this is not accessible for anyone with mobility issues as the Jazz bar is underneath the bar down some tight steps.

We enjoyed ourselves at U Maleho Glenn two times while in Prague. Casual and intimate club with excellent musicians and friendly staff. If you like live music it’s a must.

The Jazz Club is in a cellar that provides a warm, intimate setting.
The guest musicians, Libor Smoldas Trio were excellent (Guitar, Hammond B3 and drums). Libor is an amazing guitarist who plays in the style of Kenny Burrell. They also had a great guest singer from the US, Mikey Ariel who add another dimension to what was a great evening.

Lovely easy evening spent in good company and great music, courtesy of local 'off duty' informal quartet (billed as a Sun eve 'jam session'......great fun in a tiny intimate cavern venue. They obviously enjoyed being there and we were only too happy to pay the tiny CzkK 100 'cover charge'. Goulash was home cooked with fresh dumplings, beer was up to the excellent quality expected anywhere in Prague and the service was likewise. No chance of being stand offish,,,,,,all comers were seated wherever there was room......just how it should be in a place where the music is main event. Really enjoyed our evening. Would definately recommend this venue.

Intimate is the word, any closer to the band, and I’d be playing the drumkit. Seating for about 40, plus a corner for the musicians; on this night, guitar, drums and bass of The Adam Tvrdy Tough 3 – three guys clearly enjoying themselves, swinging through jazz/bluesy versions of favourites ancient and modern, and some orginal stuff. Ideal accompaniment to help slip down a few glasses of fairly ordinary lager. The affable young host pointed out almost apologetically that there was an entrance fee of 200 crowns – we thought it terrific value, and an excellent way to end an evening out. The restaurant upstairs looked and smelled good, but we didn’t try it.

Hi. Can anyone tell me the price of velvet beer here. I wanted to check something before I write a review.

Just want to say the other persons response is the least helpful review I’ve ever read lol “sorry we can’t help we drank wine” aka “oh I want to say something but i don’t have anything helpful to say so here’s this!”
