great fun-only one drink available Pilsner.- no drinks menu - when you sit the waiter brings you beers. You don't need to order. Food is great and very reasonable. Try the Beer Cheese! I had the Schnitzel and it was excellent. Doesnt open until 4pm

Amazing place, where you can experience traditional Czech pub. It's always very busy, so it's better to arrive early (10-15 minutes before 3pm). Classic place with big, shared tables, traditional old décor and a lot of tigers everywhere :) One of the best beers I've ever had - real Czech Pilsner Urqwell and it tastes different than the bottled beer.... Plzenska Pivnice U Zlatého Tygra is without doubt in my'and many other peoples opinion one of the best pubs in Prague.Located in the picturesque neighborhood area of Prague called Stare Mesto (Old Town) this is one of the most authentic pubs you will visit in Prague and also one of the most atmospheric.Housed in a gorgeous building which has some... Arrived ten to three and 10-15 people were already in the queue outside. Lucky to find seats at one of the wooden tables which you comfortably share with other beer imbibers. Before we had settled at the table, beers were served. And a piece of paper with two lines to show the number of beers. This is a traditionel beer... More

We stumbled upon this spot on a Sunday evening. When we entered the place was packed and we were told to sit at any empty seat. Threw down a couple of coasters and had two pilsners in about 60 seconds. Amazing atmosphere. As previously mentioned, the staff may come off as a little surly but they are awesome at what... More

I found this place absolutely random in Prague, but when we entered the pub immediately captured by the spirit of the place. Very hard to sit to the tables because the mass was very huge, but after it is succeded we immediately got the beers. You do not have to say you do not have to wave just drink. I... More

It always seems busy and there are no warm welcomes here, but you feel strangely privileged when you get a spot at a table and that fantastic Pilsner Urquell (unpasteurised) gets served up by the burly barmen. We called in a few times and one time stood by the serving area (no beers) waiting for a spot at a table... More

Full-on beerhouse experience much like most beer bars were back when I was in Prague in 1989-90. Only one beer choice. Rauchous room full of smoke and banter. Mostly local men - many of them ice hockey fans/players. Beer arrives. Waiter puts another pen line on the paper.. You drink it. More comes. Repeat. Snacks are available but if you... More

Don't let the bad reviews sway you....if you are looking for a traditional Czech beer house that is full of locals...then look no further. The place can be intimidating because the staff do not speak much english. If you want a seat you have to wait until one opens up at the many shared tables. We sat down and had... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
