The area
Address
Neighborhood: Malá Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.

Inflated prices for tourists
Jan 2020 • Couples
A really lovely bookshop. However beware: the prices are crazy - sometimes nearly double the RRP on the book! Clearly to take advantage of tourists. There are other nice bookshops in Prague with more reasonable prices. I’d recommend Centrum Franze Kafky for Kafka books and gifts, near the Kafka statue in the Jewish Quarter; Luxor books - I think there’s a few in Prague; and Budget Books is not bad.

Great bookshop and well worth a visit
Dec 2019
This is a great bookshop with a wonderful atosphere. There are the usual shelves of books but lots of tables with 'one-off's' - beautiful or interesting or curious books. The places to sit and chill out are cosy and welcoming. Well worth a visit.

What a Beautiful Place for Book Lovers
Dec 2019 • Solo
I discovered this amazing book store on my way to the Kafka Museum, which is just around the corner.

Don’t let yourself be fooled by the small entrance, the shop on the inside is much larger than it seems. On two floors, the shelves are packed with a great selection of primarily new books and some antiques thrown in the mix. In the basement is a small cafe with cosy chairs and random objects laying around (an old typewriter
next an Apple Macintosh straight from the 1990) which makes the place feel oddly whimsical and very homey.

A beautifully place for all the (english) book lovers out there!

Nice and large English bookstore in Prague
Nov 2019
If you are visiting Kafka Museum then this bookstore will be very close and a must visit. The place atmosphere and seats are nice and welcoming. the book collection is also impressive. the place might look small from the outside but it's quite large in the inside. Large collection of English books in different categories. I enjoyed my exploration visit to this place.

What a harsh surprise to discover this place on my LAST DAY IN PRAGUE. A great selection of new books upstairs and used books downstairs. The new ones are a bit pricy - my only negative thing to say. There are lots of Czech authors and Prague-related books, as well as best-sellers and a children’s section. Nearly all are in English.

The building itself is quite charming and surprisingly spacious. It features ample reading nooks downstairs. The sub level is airy (in good weather), cozy, and well-lit. I could spend a whole day here, or more.

If you like to read about places as you travel, the shelf just inside the door is a great place to start. The “Literary Traveler’s Companion,” for example, is a collection of short stories laid out by neighborhood and would indeed have been a perfect companion for my visit to Prague.

Good book variety
Aug 2019
From the outside the size of the shop is quite deceiving. At first I thought it will be one of those small shops which work more for hobby than for profit - I was wrong.
This shop is huge! They have a great variety of genre. There is a seating area at the back of the shop and downstairs, where you can sit, relax and enjoy the books.

I found the book prices very expensive, and I am not comparing the prices to amazon, I am talking about pricing in your typical bookshops in UK, Cyprus, Russia, Greece (basically, where I have visited).

Still I believe this is a worth visiting bookshop. We did end up buying a book, which my husband really likes and was extremely happy to actually find it.

Stop by! You won’t regret it!

This book shop is super cute and has lots of English titles to choose from as well as Czech special interest books. It’s right on the way to the Franz Kafka Museum, so there’s no excuse not to stop in. The books are reasonably priced and the basement is really cozy and retro.

Quaint Bookshop
Dec 2018 • Family
I came across the Shakespeare and Sons bookshop whilst attempting to find the Piss Sculpture.
A decent size bookstore filled with thousand of titles.
I don't know whether it's part of the Iconic Shakespeare and Company bookstore in Paris or a rip off of it ..but still a nice store.

Sep 2018 • Couples
Went in by chance as myself and my partner are both book lovers, initially quite impressed by the size of the shop but disappointed by the staff - while looking at downstairs my partner was accused (very rudely) by a staff member of taking pictures of the books on his phone to look them up later and buy them from amazon, when he was in fact only checking the time.

Also, it's not clear which books are new and which are second hand, and the prices are marked up very high.
