About
On the Old Town side of Charles Bridge, this Gothic tower built in 1373 is flanked by sculptures of St Vitus and Charles IV. Open to the public,it offers excellent views of the Old Town and the Vltava River to visitors who climb the narrow staircase. The tower once displayed the heads of twelve Protestant leaders executed in 1621, and was also the site of the final conflict of the Thirty Years War (1618-1648).

Neighborhood: Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.

Beginning of the Famous Bridge
Mar 2020
The tower marks the beginning of the famous Charles Bridge. Even from outside, it is an impressing building and a good subject for photos. It is also possible to climb the stairs to the top, where you have a nice view (paid admission).

This is worth doing as entrance fee expensive and you will have views overlooking Charles Bridge and well as the old town. Recommended.

As of October to at least November, the tower and all other historical attractions, practically the entire city, are closed due to Covid 19 restrictions.

It will take your breath away.

138 steps to climb . No elevator. 14th century tower is just one of the many towers to climb.
All of the towers charge fees for the exercise . The best views are at night and if you decide to go at night you may have it all for yourself.

It will take your breath away ...

Evening climb
Sep 2020 • Solo
I arrived in Prague quite late in the day, and this was my first thing to check off the list. Even though it was dark already and the weather wasn't best, the tower was a perfect spot, as the top part is quite sheltered, and the view of the city lit-up was breathtaking. And the tower itself was completely deserted, I was the only one visiting! Be sure to check it out!

1 of the must do it’s!

Hi. Great area of the city and since you are on the Charles bridge already you might as well do it if you can handle the narrow stairs. Remember when it was built people were smaller.

Stunning views from impressive tower
Sep 2019
The tower is a stunning Gothic structure that is positioned at the Old Town end of the famous Charles Bridge. The bridge and tower were constructed in the mid-fourteenth century. A climb to the top of the tower is well worth it as the views across to the Prague Castle and St Vitas Cathedral are impressive. Good photo opportunities.

Fantastic view
Jul 2020 • Couples
The price was 100 czk ( 3,80 euro) and the visiting program is 10 am to 10 pm. The view is so impressive. In this price is also included the entry for an intermediate room before the top and when you get down we can visit a small exhibition with old staff ( this one is not so interesting).

You can climb to the top
Sep 2019
The Lesser Town Bridge Tower is on the other side of the Charles Bridge. This tower is beautiful and Gothic in style. It was the gate that Kings would pass on their way for their coronation ceremony.
There are 138 steps to the top to get a great view and superb photographs.
