This is an outstanding building which is situated on the site of the Royal Court, and situated close to Powder Gate. The level of detail includes intricate artwork and well chosen paintings and sculptures. The restaurants and cafes alongside the entrance can be compared to walk-in museums of art nouveau design. Well worth spending a lazy afternoon, and taking in... More

The service at this coffee shop was very nice. The waiter was able to speak German and offered us also some nice cake and coffee. The interior design was just amazing. Prices were ok and the food was delicious. When you're in Prague, you have to go here!

We attended an evening concert here in Smetana Hall and enjoyed it immensely. We went mid-week so the crowd was small which was a plus in my book! The concert lasted approximately an hour which was also good for us as we were tired after a long day of walking around. The dress code was varied but most people were... More

Prague is packed with architectural treasures and this is one of the top. It is a public concert and performance hall and you can see the main rooms if you attend a concert. The tour gives you a more leisurely and extensive view with good background information. The Mucha and other art work is gorgeous. After the tour have a... More

Another gem in this city of extreme architecture, with Alfonso Mucha influences. A drink in the bar was a treat (if we had waited another half hour it was 'happy hour' but we were on holiday and that didn't matter. Well worth a visit. Found out about it by visiting the Mucha Museum ealier.

You cannot access much of this building without a ticket to the show, but the parts that are accessible are an interesting example of Art Nouveau. Worth a peak inside just to see the beautiful restaurants. No need to spend more than 20 minutes or so poking around.

We were waiting for our Tour. Meeting place next to the yellow booth opposite this beautiful building. We had time to spare so we entered, only to discover a lovely restaurant and bill boards advertising distinguished operas and concerts. The building is remarkable on the exterior and interior. Look up, to the roof and see those great decorations. In the... More

Its incredible that Czech Republic still chares this gem with the public. To see this house over and over again gives inspiration and hope that beautiful things can still be built even 100 years later perhaps.

This building is impressive and beautiful both outside and inside, they hold many concerts and performances here which I imagine would be out of this world. You can visit the inside of the building and the bars and restaurants free of charge, these are beautifully decorated and all different. You can also take a tour which has to be booked... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
