We booked a concert well in advance but when we turned up for the show it was about 15% full. The music was great and the concert hall was beautiful. After the concert we visited the restaurant in the basement which took you back in time in terms of decor.

The hall is beautiful, service is so so but definitely worth visiting. The beer hall is big, loud and steeped in history. Live accordion music and impromptu local singers once they have had enough to drink!

Beer hall restaurant. Entertainment was only average. Beer was good, food only so-so. Would not go back. But building was gorgeous.

Very near the city center the municipal house hall is a quite distinctive building, very adorned and quite spectacular.

The municipal hall is a fabulous art deco building- a world apart from the image created by the title Municipal Hall. We enjoyed a short concert- just as well it was short, because the seating is less than comfortable!

One of the highlights of old town.. I spent time taking photo's from many angles of the fantastic exterior. Next, walk inside. as you have free access to the lobby and the basement leading to a beautiful old bar. Superbly decorated.

If you go to the concert you will only see the main concert hall. Thie one hour guided tour takes you to all the three halls and amazingly decorated side rooms in different designs. You don't want to miss this one.

I am in love with this building. It is beautifully conceived and excellently executed with the top-most Czech skill and accuracy. Perfectly maintained and fully in use serving the public of Prague. Add to that the other buildings of numerous architectural styles surrounding the Namesti Republiky. A must-see and do.

I personally think Prague should be at least as much about its Art Nouveau (not to be confused with Art Deco) legacy as it is about Charles the IVth and in this respect you can't miss the Municipal House hall. If you're lucky enough to visit while there is an exhibition, go. There was one about Art Nouveau precisely when... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
