this is a beautiful building, the concert hall is stunning and the art deco glass and tiling in the restaurant and cafe quite stunning, worth a look even if only through the windows - the prices are eye watering.

This place was a pleasant surprise. It is right next to the Gunpowder Gate and they hold events almost every night. We attended a concert there the our second night in Prague. Wasn't just tourists. Lots of locals dressed from very casual to evening dress attended. Get there about 20 min before the doors open because the line queues up... More

We did not take a tour - just walked around (both inside and outside) - and very much enjoyed the architecture, design, and decorations.

Very beautiful building in the Old City. We attended a concert at the Smetana Hall featuring the best of Mozart and Dvorak. There is a Café at street and restaurant at a lower level.

I attended a one hour concert on Dec 6 - Mozart and Beethoven - then returned the next night for a second concert of Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Pachelbel's Canon and a Brahms Hungarian Dance. The setting was informal, in the lower level one night and upstairs the next. The Art Nouveau decor added to the fun. The musicians were superb.

the building itsel is regulare, but the most interesting thing is the statue of the Maharal - the creator of "Golem"' at the left corner off the city hall.

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
