Further down the road from the Palladium shopping mall in New Town is the Municipal House, which is a large concert venue including the famed hall named after Czech composer, Smetana Hall. If you have time in Prague, I would definitely suggest spending a night going to the concert and enjoy the symphony. This is likely to be amongst the... More

We went to see a concert here by The Bohemia Symphony Orchestra Prague and it was excellent. Our seats were great and affordable. The location is easy to find - in the Republic Square.

We had tea and cake it was really good. As soon as the dessert trolley comes you find it hard to choose . Lovely setting in a beautiful building. A must visit.

Concert hall has wonderful acoustics. Might want to "dress up" a little bit or feel out of place. Restaurant and cafe food is fine, waiters all have some English. Gorgeous, beautifully restored rooms. Have a drink at the American Bar downstairs before a concert.

We went here for a Smetana concert, in the Smetana hall - the whole building is very impressive, nice historical architecture, worth seeing.

We stayed in a great hotel next door and completely lucked out as when we were walking past, they were just starting a "Hollywood" 50 piece orchestra which was actually really cool. Some people were dressed in suits and nice gowns, but many where dressed in nice jeans and a collared shirt as well. (You have to check your coats... More

We only popped in here for a coffee, but the dessert trolley looked so fabulous that we had to try something. Lovely!

We went to see one of the Christmas concerts held at Municipal House which is located on the edge of the old town, Prague and close to the Palladium shopping centre. At the front of the Municipal House there are various touts handing out flyers to a number of concerts held in any one day. I wouldn't bother booking ahead... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
