Decided to go up market for a change and had evening meal here. Wonderful food in a beautiful setting. Atmosphere was superb with the live music played on the piano. The setting is just sublime and the service was everything you could wish for-Britain take a leaf please!! It looks expensive but is not . Classy yet restrained. Good choice.

The building is charming with a rich history and a large concert hall. We thoroughly enjoyed an hour long concert by a 8 member string ensemble playing classic crowd pleasers with gusto.

One of the more stunning buildings in Prague. And there is a lot of competition. We did not see too much of the interior other than the American bar. That was a good excuse to see the lower level of the building. Beautiful! The bar was not super busy and the bartender took his time making us the perfect cocktails.... More

Visit this building (guided tour recommended) with splendid art nouveau rooms decorated by foremost Czech artists. You will see the most beautiful mosaics, pictures, chandelliers and furniture. In the magnificent Smetana Hall you can listen to concerts. Enjoy drinking coffee in the café decorated by Mucha. The French restaurant is outstanding but only for the rich. In any case, you... We bought the tour of the municipal house and the only very interesting thing was to see from the inside the mechanism of the astronomical clock. For the rest, ok was nice and historical place but our guide was not able to answer to our question... so spend your money some where else!

This building is one of the most beautiful and detailed in whole Prague. I was there for a concert and I recommend to everybody to do so if there is some similar happening.

Watched two superb concerts in the main concert hall. One was a mix of opera and ballet, superb! There is a very good restaurant downstairs ideal for a pre concert meal.

You must take a guided tour, which is not expensive at all, to get to see all the ancient layers of houses under the building as they really were since the Early Middle Ages.

One of the most emblematic buildings of Prague. It is splendid from outside and even better inside. Concert hall offers great concerts of classical music, there is a gallery which offers great exhibition of fine arts, there is lso several restaurants and cafés inside, the best one is probably French restaurant, their advertisment says that it is probably the most... Restored after many years of neglect about thirty years ago the hall is a fascinating building with so much tiny detail among its architectural styles

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
