Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.

On a recent trip to Prague a friend of my daughter, knowing about my love of red wine suggested we try Vinograf, which turned out to be excellent advice.

The wine choices are simply staggering, you could spend a night there for months at a time and have a different wine every time. You can order by the bottle or by the glass (options are less by glass).

We also had food. The food and drink options are on a tablet (very modern and trendy). The food is basically small plates, three is recommended for two people, which is the option we chose. We ordered the duck ravioli with parmesan and truffle oil. Foie Gras with toasted brioche and deep fried feta cheese with a leaf salad.

All the for was very good, we both chose the duck ravioli as our favourite. I had two glasses of wine, my daughter was on soft drinks for the night. Total bill - an amazing £35.00!

Honestly, if you like wine, go to Vinograf, you won't be disappointed, I wasn't and I'm not easily pleased.

Was not expecting to like the Czech Sauvignon so much. There were three of us so I asked for our wine to be shared in flights rather than individual glasses. The staff were very accommodating and I bought a bottle to take home! Food was very good too.

The modern interpretation of traditional food was what made us repeat guests at this restaurant. Some of our favorites were the venison pie, tortelli with hare, and the pork plum. We also enjoyed some delicious Spanish wine at the recommendation of our server.

Avoid. Staff appear bored and unhelpful initial chap nice. Selections wines formulaic and limited. Charged 3euros for tap water. Prestige wines not listed on wine menu (2 add are) but 6 on board without price. Soleless. No one in there and no chat. Not my style for sure

We booked a table at Vinograf based on strong reviews, and were not disappointed.

The wine selection, and knowledge, was amazing. We particularly enjoyed learning about Czech wines - so much so we bought a bottle to take away. The accompanying tapas were amazing - particularly the cheese and salami selection, and duck ravioli.

Although a busy Saturday night, it turns out we needn’t have booked for such an early (7.30pm) table - however by the time we were leaving a couple hours later, the place was full.

Early or late evening, you must give it a visit!

We sought out this wine bar and it did not disappoint. Normally, you would need to book because it is so popular, however we were able to get seats at the bar. There were so many wines to choose from but the staff were very helpful. We ordered a cheeseboard to go alongside though there are other options i.e. a cured meat platter. It had a great, relaxed atmosphere and the staff were warm and friendly.

One of two Vinografs you can find in Prague. Unlike the other, which serves exclusively Czech wine, this vinograf has wine from all around the world. Their wine list is extensive and they offer a fantastic selection by the glass and some more exclusives via Coravin. The sommeliers here really love what they do and the attention to detail is fantastic. I have also enjoyed their charcuterie board, risotto and ravioli. Which are all fantastic!!
I would recommend to all my wine loving friends to give this place a visit.

A lovely wine bar that we happened to stumble across, and we enjoyed it so much that we came back that evening! The feature of browsing the extensive 'wines by the glass' on the interactive tablets was a first for us and the sommeliers had great knowledge

+: -Welcoming and knowledgeable staff, seemed genuinely engaged in conversation with us
-Great tablets (similar to iPads) used the browse the wines by the glass, bottles, food menu and hot drinks
-Lovely set-up of the restaurant, with the intriguing wall of wines
-Wines range in price and so meet everyone's budget

-: -Food menu isn't at all good for kids, fussy eaters or those who favour plain and simple foods
-Bench-like perching seats outside all sorts

Castles and museums are fine, but travelling is also about the local culinary culture. Vinograf presents it in an exemplary way, not pushy, but with a pleasantly relaxed approach. My impression was that it pays to reserve.

As the name indicates, the place revolves around wine and does so very ably. The collection is presented on a dedicated iPad with a data base that can be filtered and searched. You can e.g. find a Czech white in seconds without the help of the staff or a teenager. We tried five different Czech wines, three reds and two whites, finding them all not just interesting but also well handled and properly aged. The lady serving us knew her stuff, advised us professionally and patiently, even when the place was pretty full.

The dishes presented to accompany the wines were appropriate, nicely presented and even slightly creative. As a side note, I would have liked one low fat dish. The fish dish looked promising in theory but came with an unannounced mustard sauce. The cheeses were a delight and brought out the best in the reds.
