The NH Carlo IV is a beautiful hotel.
Every member of staff was friendly & approachable and really made us feel welcome.
The breakfast was delicious & had lots of variety.
The Spa is stunning and really made our stay extra special.
Room was comfortable & had everything we needed. Lots of nice extra touches such as hand creams & body lotions.
This was the second NH Collection hotel we have stayed at and we would recommend them in a heartbeat.

When I visited Prague, I visited the Carlo IV Wellness & Spa twice, the first time as a hotel guest, and the second time as an external spa customer. I saw Veronika both times, first for a remedial massage, and then for a hot-rocks "lava" treatment, a couple of weeks later.
My advice is to make full use of the hour in the spa before your massage, or even arrive earlier to sneak in a few minutes more. It is amazing. Hot sauna & cold ice bath, a light swim in the pool/jacuzzi or just relax on a deck chair with iced lemon water. There's a steambath too, but I didn't feel the need to use it. This is what spas are all about. The ambience is relaxing, and the dim blue lights let the mind wind down and the muscles relax.
Veronika is extremely knowledgeable, and receptive to your needs. She is professional and comfortable to be around at the same time. Her pressure is not agonisingly "deep", but it is deep enough to have a lasting effect with surprisingly little pain - even after walking the city (and other cities) for weeks. She definitely knows what she's doing. The rooms are big, luxurious and comfortable. Expect to pay accordingly.

Top hotel in Prague

Top hotel. Superb service from a highly professional team. Food and bar service truly excellent. Around 6 minutes walk to new town and a brisk 10 minute walk to the start of the old town. Around 15 minute walk to the old town square. Cab ride from airport 900 Crowns and there is a metro station (red line) really just 90 seconds walk away. Highly recommend

Very disappointed

A group of 4 of us were staying in Prague for 3 nights on a short break and had planned to do lots of walking finished by a nice couple of hours at the spa to relax before going home.
The pool and the surrounding area was very cold, the water was supposed to be 28 degrees and the air 30 degrees.
We complained to the management who did take the pool temperature in front of us and found it to be 28 degrees. To be honest though it was so cold in there that we only spent under an hour in there and had to get out. We were refunded 10% of our payment which we found to be poor as it was expensive and a huge disappointment.
Such a shame especially as we had looked forward to it so much.

Dear Julieeverley, Thank you for taking your time to review your recent visit at Carlo IV Wellness & Spa! As we already discussed in person, I would like to remind you that our 20-meter long swimming pool is not a hot tub, therefore the temeperature is set to the relaxing 28 degrees. We did take the pool temperature in front of you and it was in compliance with the signage (28 degrees...). So was the air temperature (30 degrees). That said, there was no mistake from our side and yet we decided to refund you 10% of your total bill as a gesture of good will. I am disappointed to hear that this was not enough for you. Grand old hotel.

Grand old building which should be very nice but it’s almost a bit too big. Lots of corridor walking if you’re not in the main wing. The street outside is a bit sterile too although the main railway station is close. Oddly the first thing you notice walking in to the main stairs up to the lobby proper is the smell of chlorine - turns out the door to the swimming pool and spa is just inside. Rooms adequate. Sauna and spa are nice. The #9 tram which runs over to the other side of town is right outside so that’s handy too. Front desk people nice but there seemed to be a lot of young new employees - a sign of the times probably.

Just an average hotel definitely not a 5 star hotel

expectations, there were some features you dont need e.g guy standing opening main doors at the entrance, who needs it…breakfast were more than average, i found hair on sheets upon arrival overall its not a 5 star hotel.. i cant say i was disapointed but also its hard to say i was astonished by property and its facilities.. next time i would book elsewhere

Best swimming pool

This hotel is one of the most beautiful places i have stayed. The spa pool is magical a little fresh when you get in but great for swimming. Service from the friendly reception staff was brilliant. Extremely quiet and an easy Airport Express bus and walk of 5mins.
£2.00 each way amazing!!

Massage and Facial

After a seemingly never ending number of flights and travel time. I finally made it to this hotel. This Wellness Spa is amazing. I got a one hour massage followed by a one hour facial. It was ecstasy. I woke up from it rejuvenated and ready to enjoy my time in Prague.

Great choice

If you want to experience great place with great people visit Carlo IV hotel.
We staid there for several days and enjoyed that so much.
Professional and always supportive staff willing to help anytime.

Nice setting, less than average service
The spa is located in the Boscolo hotel. I booked a couples massage a week in advance for myself and my fiancé, they asked for my credit card info to charge my card for one of the two massages, I obliged, and I noticed that the amount I was charged was 4€ higher than the amount listed on their Spa menu. I didn't think it was a big issue and didn't mention it at check-in for our massages. The spa receptionist gave us keys to lockers where we could undress and put on the bathrobes and slippers they provide. We then waited in the treatment waiting area well before our scheduled treatment time, and filled out a questionnaires which is quite standard for all spas. Our massages therapists came to get us 8 minutes after our massages was supposed to begin. They took us to our treatment room which was very brightly lit, and told us to get undressed and lie down on the massage table while they waited for us outside. Our massages ended up starting 15 minutes late, and lasted only 45 minutes even though we had both booked 60 minute massages. I asked whether the lights could be dimmed at the beginning of the massage, and she said it was not possible. I have had massages in nice hotels and spas all over the world, and I was quite disappointed by this massage experience. If the massage had been of high quality, the fact that it was shortened would not have been an issue, but my massage therapist did not know what she was doing. At one point, she started slapping my leg with her hands like they do in cheap Asian nail salons!

After the massage we enjoyed the pool and sauna area, but there is no jacuzzi to sit in that is warm, and the pool is just warm enough to comfortably swim in, but it's not well heated. At the end she I went to pay, the receptionists at the spa said nothing to me when I told them that our massages were far shorter than planned, and that I had been charged extra on my card. If you are used to five star spa experiences and have visited nice spas in top hotels like the Hyatt, four seasons, mandarin oriental, etc. this spa experience will be disappointing. The massage therapists are not well trained and the service was not professional.

Dear valued guest, thank you very much for the time you took to send us your feedback regarding your Spa visit. I apologise for not delivering on your expectations regarding the service at our Spa. I took the time to investigate the situation and take necessary steps to make sure some of the things dont ever happen again. Regarding the payment, please drop me an email to my account spa.manager@prague.boscolo.com so that I can settle that with your card account. All the therapists on our team undertook an intense training about 3 weeks ago and therefore I am surprised about the technique your therapists used during the massage. We will put in place more mystery shopping visits so that we can better monitor the quality. It is our standard that in the rare case when we are late to begin the treatment due to an unusual situation, the therapists are obliged to make sure the treatment takes 55 min in any case (5 min covers consultation, preparation and then ending of the treatment). As I mentioned, we have taken necessary steps to make sure it doesnt happen again. I wish there was something I could do at this point which would make your overall stay more enjoyable. Please let me know if you plan any trip to Prague in the future, I will be happy to provide you with a complimentary treatment and entry to the Spa to let you experience the Spa at its best as this is what we aim for for each client.
