Usually, coming to a city I have never been to before, I use a ‘Hop on, hop off’ service to get acquainted with the place. So even on my recent first visit to Prague. I did the city tour twice and even had a wonderful boat cruise on the river Moldova. It was a great experience, made special due to the friendliness of both, guide and driver. Superb and recommended.

Wish I would’ve checked out some reviews before purchasing tickets. They came up to us on our 1St day of about to explore the city.. and since we had been on the city siteseeing tour before in Greece we assumed this one would be similar and standards would be the same across the board. But let me tell you.. all hop on hop offs are NOT created equal PROs: 1: our tour guide for the Jewish quarters was very nice and knowledgeable about the city, we walked around with her for about an hour, she took us to a Icecream parlor that she liked and we treated her. She was so sweet. 2: we saw a lot of nice things CONS: 1. They don’t have stops labeled anywhere so pay attention when you get off at a stop 2. Buses aren’t labeled with their business name so remember however The bus you got off of looks. 3. Couldn’t hear a thing out of the ear plugs on the bus that actually had sound 4. One of their busses had no sound at all 5. The people just rush you along as you’re asking questions about the tours you signed up for. (We asked them was this particular bus the location for the tour we signed up for the told us yes Yes and we got on the bus went to the next location and stood there for about 20 -30 min (since the guy told us yes we didn’t want to miss our guide) then we ended up walking back to the initial location where the man told us yes yes and our guide was there waiting on us and said she’d been there fore about 30 min. Ugh.. THE GUIDE LADY WAS THE BEST PART OF THE HOPONHOPOFF. 6. They told us to get on a boat trip and there would be romantic and the would serve lunch, When we arrived on the boat people had their children running back up and down the boat, back and forth screaming.. not romantic at all, they had serving trays out like we were going to eat later so after about 30min of being served a drink ..because It was only suppose to be an hour ride, we asked about food and the waitress said they only have chips and peanuts. Smh. 7. Bus drops and actual locations to visit are far part so be prepared for a lot a lot of walking. 8. They spoke English but they were very impatient and not listening when we asked them questions. I will NEVER book with them again and I do NOT recommend.

Bought tickets for the hop on hop off Prague tour bus for March 6 and 7, 2020. Total waste of money. The girl at the kiosk said the stops were clearly identified. This was not the case. On the green line, the first one and the one near the brewery, were the only ones that were marked in anyway. At the monastery stop, we were dropped off and told that it was the same place to wait for the next bus. In fact, the next bus stopped about 50m further up the street and did not wait as we started running for it. So we had to wait another 20 minutes for the next one. On that bus, the steward asked if any one wanted to get off at the next stop and as none of us did, the driver did not bother to stop to collect those who were waiting there. The staff were rude and unhelpful. Instead of continuing with this useless company, Prague the public transport system is clean, cheap, and very reliable. I would suggest the one day or three day pass that gives access to the buses, trams, and underground train system.

We always get the city hop on hop off buses when we go away; they are usually a great way to learn about the place and get around. Prague is small enough to walk to all the points it takes you. We went to the Tickets & Tours Kiosk on ‘NA PRIKOPE’ street next to O.Bag company on the afternoon of 5 March 2020. The lady who sold us the tickets on Thursday afternoon was lovely and helpful (dark haired middle aged). We bought 48 hour tickets as were staying until Sunday evening we thought we would activate them on the bus the Friday afternoon. On Friday 6 March, we went to stop 11 in the Old Town Square where the bus should come every 15 minutes, we waited nearly 40 minutes and no bus arrived. We had to leave as we had plans. The next afternoon, 7 March, we managed to get a bus but by now would not get to use the full 48 hours and asked if we could change to 24 hours instead. Long story short the tour guide called Head Office, they OK’d it but as we had paid a deposit at the Kiosk, we had overpaid for 24 hours and they owed us some money – told us to go there for it. No problem it was near our hotel. We went. It was a different lady, middle aged, blonde, incredibly rude and unhelpful. She directed us to another ticket office down the road where there is higher level management, we went there relayed the whole issue again, they too called Head Office who said the lady in the booth where we purchased them had to do the refund. There was a young dark haired girl in this ‘management’ booth who was so helpful. She came with us back to the other lady, she was incredibly understanding and tried to speak to the older blonde woman and explain. Whilst I do not speak the local language I could tell that the older blonde lady was being unhelpful and rude to the young girl who was trying to assist us. There was even another call to Head Office and still she refused the refund, stating it was her money and she didn’t sell us the original tickets. In short, we did get the money back, eventually, but not from this kiosk. However, we always use the red buses, we hadn’t realised we had made the mistake of getting these orange buses. We did not read these reviews as we didn’t plan this in advance. I have read a few since and confirm I would not use this company again. The bus did not turn up when it should which is what caused this fiasco. Then when we did have a tour, they stopped for a 15 minute break and a 10 minute break in one round of the tour (we were told this is around 90 minutes); this is a waste of time to tourists as we are just left sitting on the bus in a back street. Additionally, we had to move seats to get the headphones to work, they worked intermittently to the point where my partner gave up and didn’t even try and listen anymore, there was another couple on the bus and the female moved to three different seats for the same issue until she got one that worked. The tour did include a river trip, which was good and worth it but probably offered by the other companies too. I do also want to note that it was good of Head Office to allow us to drop from 48 to 24 hour ticket but in reality this was only required due to the poor service of the lack of bus, when it should have been there. Whether they don’t have enough buses or staff I do not know but I will be more careful in future with such hop on hop off buses and will buy tickets on the bus directly with the red company that is in every city we have visited.
