Neighborhood: Malá Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.

Karmeliska is a beautiful street in Prague ,lined with great looking buildings, one of the most beautiful is Kostel Panny Marie Vitezne A Prazske Jezulatko aka The Monastery Of Jesus Of Prague or Church Of Our Lady Victorious .
Constructed between 1611-1613 ,this church is a great example of Baroque architecture and is very pleasing on the eye ,when we visited on the run up to Christmas the church looked wonderful and there was a cute nativity market set up outside the church ,looked so cool ,if you're in the Lesser Town ( Mala Strana. ) district it's a church to most definitely check out and it's easy to locate along Karmeliska.

Known as the infant Jesus of Prague, the statue is located in the Church of our Lady Victorious and it has been a symbol of Christian Faith and Jesus teaching to millions of people around the world since its creation. The statue is over 400 years old, made in the 16th century and donated to the Carmelite Church in 1628. Worshipers from all over the world continue to visit the little Baby Jesus, during our visit the priest came out and in English asked the people present where they were from. They were from China, South America and Canada. He then invited them to follow him to the sacristy for further prayers.

The church of the Infant Jesus of Prague is a very interesting, very important church for Catholics. The Infant Jesus of Prague is venerated especially outside the Czech republic. It is very much venerated in Latin America. The church is not very much visited by locals. It is not crowded; in fact when I visited the church, I was alone. The church has a nice museum with many robes given by presidents and other important dignitaries, mainly from Latin America.

The church is easy to find. It is in Mala Estrana and walking distance from other sites of interest. There is no entrance fee.

I just couldn’t believe the number of grown people kneeling and praying before a doll. I guess that’s the difference between spirituality and conventional religion. The former doesn’t need an ‘intermediary’, whereas the latter does.

As to the statue’s periodic ‘wardrobe change’, I’m reminded of the little girls of yesteryear who used to change their dolly’s clothing at every opportunity.

A lovely welcoming church with a Christmas theme outside. Internally very nice main altar and left hand side altars and a wonderfully striking altar to the right hand side. No entry fee so leave a donation to a church that still opens its doors to all.

This is a very ornate church with 6 alters along the sides, a very ornate main alter and 2 chapels. One of the alters contains the statue of the Infant Jesus of Prague, Jesus represented as a child. It originally came from Spain and was given to the church in 1628. Entry to the church is free. It is worth a visit.

I always return.

This is one church where I am not a tourist. This is the church of my childhood, before the communists banned the religion.

I am always surprised to see how many people come here to pray, rather than tourists just walking around, like in many other churches in Prague.

The small statue of BabyJesus - Jezulatko, is believed by many Catholics to have miraculous powers of healing. The engraved marble plaques with thanks from grateful people, whose prayers were answered, are lined up high on each side of the alter.
Many have been added since my first return to Prague years ago.

I come back to pray for my family's well being. I believe that miracles of healing do happen.

Before I leave the church , I make a quick stop in the gift shop.

I hope to return ...

The church is decorated in flamboyant Baroque style, with gold everywhere. The statue of the Child of Prague is dressed in embroidered robes. Worshippers from different parts of the world pay reverence in the church and it is a focus for both believers and tourists. Strangely, this statue seems to have a lot more significance in other cultures (e.g. Ireland or the Philippines) than in the Czech Republic itself.

Dedicated to the Infant Jesus, others call it the Sto Nino. In the Carmelite district . We got a chance encounter with the priest and he gave us our blessing. We got photos also with the statue of the Infant Jesus. Church was renovated. Nice architecture design. Also cold inside. There was a museum located up the galley.
