I have to say from the start that I did enjoy it. However as it is quite expensive I opted for a 30 minute session. Within that short time the pilot who basically does a lot for you (flaps, undercarriage, navigation in fact many of the things you want to do and learn yourself) explains the basics but as a keen virtual computer pilot, I know a lot already and wanted to know what and why he was pressing various buttons. The cockpit is as advertised, with all the hundreds of buttons and it would probably take an hour to explain them all. The simulation is static so you don't get any movement and although the graphics in the air are good as you see them through the cockpit window, the detail on the ground is a basic standard and the same from any airport you fly from and is no better than Microsoft flight simulator. Having said that, if you are a keen would be pilot, as I am, its a good experience leaving you wanting more..

I very recently enjoyed the experience of "flying" with iPilot, but my story is more than just the time in the simulator.

I received a gift certificate for 60 minutes in the simulator as a birthday gift. However, the first time I went to redeem it the simulator was having technical problems and I was told to rebook.

When it was explained that I was not from Prague and had spent more than two hours travelling to Prague specifically for the simulator, they were very appologetic and gave me a replacement voucher for 90 minutes in the simulator and threw in a video recording of my session in it. I can't fault them on customer care.

I chose the A320 Airbus simulator, they also have a 737 simulator. With the extra 30 minutes my friendly and patient instructor, Lukas, gave me a good overview of the instruments and other controls and a practice run before we used the remaining 60 minutes to try flying from a few different airports.

It was a very enlightening experience to learn how much of a modern airliner is automatically controlled and how much is still manually flown. I was shown how to use the throttles and flaps on both take off and landing as well as how to input settings for some of the aircraft's more automatic features.

While the simulator is not a moving one, it does faithfully replicate the flight deck arrangement of the A320 (Lots of pictures of that can be found online if you'd like to confirm) and gives you a good idea of cockpit procedures.

IPilot also has an extensive catalog of airports to choose from. In the 90 minutes I had, we did take offs, fly arounds and landings at San Francisco, Prague, Brno and Madeira as well as a landing at St. Maarten.

In the course of my flying, I was given opportunities to fly by both instruments and visual cues.

About the only thing I can think of to fault them on, and it's a small thing, is that they have no Airbus related items in their selection of souvenirs. They have lots of Boeing stuff and some of their own iPilot merchandise, but no Airbus stuff for those who chose the A320 simulator.

The iPilot is a flight simulator of an Airbus A320. You get to fly sitting in a cockpit with all the instruments available. Since I am no expert and never have been in a cockpit, I cannot judge how accurate all the tools are, but it is very convincing indeed. The person guiding us through it all was very helpful, explaining everything, and supporting throughout the flying procedure in a great way. Unfortunately, the price for all this is very high - too high in my opinion. We got it as a gift, but otherwise would never have done it.

I paid for a 30 minute session. During this time, I could bank, gain or lower altitude. EVERYTHING else was controlled by the computer. You touch no controls, its all automatic. No throttle, no flaps, and you think you're landing it? Sorry, that's automatic also. Basically, you sit there and pretend you are operating the simulator. I feel totally ripped off. By the way, a simulator simulates, in this thing you sit in a seat, stare at a screen, there's no movement, which for the steep price one would hope for a little more than a virtual reality ride.

Dear Jeff K, Thank you for your review. Our flight simulators are fixed based simulators, there is no physical movement. The simulators are a realistic replication of existing airplane cockpits and you are able to fly manually with most of the functions working. If the autopilot is not turned on, you are able to operate the plane on your own. Kind regards, The iPILOT Team

I would not recommend this expirience at all, the price is really overestimated and also I expected a lot more from the expirience, the simulator is static so only thing you do is to move with joystick, that is all. Also in time when we were on this simulator we could not see the position of our plane on the display (actually there are two displays - one for instructor and one for you). For us the display did not work so we had to look to instructor screen that was really funny. Also my feeling is that while you were on the simulator the screen got stucked many times.

Booked the 90 min session for my husband as a birthday present. Being an enthusiastic aviator, he felt like it was a 9 min session… Time (literally) flew by. His instructor, a very nice licensed pilot, made the experience more professional and genuine.
Two comments:
1. When booking, check the last minute special offers before payment. It saved us 1,400 CZK (~€56).
2. Those escorting the "pilot" should take into consideration they need to keep quiet, in a dark room, for the entire length of the flight – not suitable for all.

If you like me spotting the nearest planes above your head in your phone and loving entire industry with its spirit, challenging environment and technicality do not hesitate to try this attraction. Even if you spend only 30 minutes in the cockpit you will have the chance to feel like a professional heading A320 to the nearest airport under your full control.

Nice experience, friendly and accomodating staff, a lot of space for non-flying part of the team in the cabin. Probably requires 60 minutes (rather than 30). Not cheap. The centre of Prague.

I heard about this place a long time ago and I always wanted to do that.
I know alot about plains and how to operate them, so the instructor let me do most of the flying. He let me choose from which airport to takeoff and land. Because we had enoghf time, I asked him to let me take off from Fairbanks Alaska in a winter condition and that was even more fun.
If you are in to flying, its a great place to visit in Prag.
