It is a big beauty, a great, significant symbol of faith. Gives Prague castle a significant character and serve as a major landmark. This cathedral will never fail to inspire awe. The roof top is embellished with pinnacles, figures and gargoyles. The inside is also just as awesome.

This is a really cool gothic cathedral that is a must visit while in Prague. Lots of people though! Expect to wait a while in line and be prepared to go through a thorough security check.

The windows in this cathedral just took my breath away, especially the one designed by Mucha! The sunshine outside just made the glass glow and my photos were fantastic.

Beautiful gothic architecture takes to back down the Bohemian era. The christianity and pagan influence makes the place more wondering.

I love to visit churches. This one is well preserved and worth a visit for the history it has been witness to. The decorations were a little depressing but the stained glass are gorgeous. We really enjoyed a trek up the clock tower with amazing views, at 200 steps it's not for the front of heart. At the top there... More

Visited St. Vitus Cathedral early and the place is most beautiful. The sun coming through the stained glass windows projected brilliance on the walls. Been to churches in Paris and they are wonderful but St. Vitus Cathedral is still my best.

My Wife and I visited here twice during our 4 day stay in Prague. Our first stop was a fleeting visit to give us an idea of both the cathedral and castle, when we didn't pay, however we decided it was well worth a more detailed exploration, and came back a second day when we paid to see more of the... Definitely a must if you stay in Prague. It is a very beautiful cathedral. Both from outside and from inside. Very crowded, which is a another evidence of its popularity.

This is a Gothic church, is really big and one of the places you have to see if you are in Prague. This church is inside the Prague Castle you can pay the tickets that includes the Church so you can see it inside, if you don't have the ticket you can get in but not go to the altar

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighborhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
