St Vitus is within the Prague Castle grounds - its a lovely cathedral you need to pay a little extra if you wan to walk the entire length of the Aisle. A really good camera would get the all the good shots. The stained glass windows are amazing.

Such interesting history to the building if this fabulous cathedral. It worth getting a private tour to explain the architecture from the outside before you then purchase a tour ticket. We did tour A which allowed us to see all areas of the cathedral as well as several palaces in the castle grounds This is a must see sight when... More

This is a great visit in a popular square. Wait for the clock to chime on the hour every hour and you won't be disappointed. Take your time to look at each individual carving and statue, it really is incredible. If you go up to the viewing area you will get some stunning views and photo opportunities. It is very... More

This cathedral is pretty impressive from the outside, sat on its hill overlooking Prague and with its intricate West facade, however the interior doesn't disappoint. Some of the stained glass windows are stunning and so varied in colours. The whole thing is crazily ornate and shows what men can do if they're inspired enough!

As we approached the cathedral I was reminded of the one of Milan with its fine chisel exterior work. It is probably one of the most beautiful Cathedral of this world with majestic proportion yet humble interior. We were mesmerised.

Worth the visit. Very cold temperature like many stone monuments. Impressive location within presidential palace. Visiting clock tower is a must if you can make the climb.

We wandered across Charles Bridge and climbed the streets up to the Castle, and were enchanted with this cathedral. It is a very magnificent building, full of tiny chapels and with stunning stained glass. Our only disappointment was the queue to get through security to enter the castle complex - it took around 45 minutes and we only wanted to... More

The baroque architecture is exquisite so are the stained glass windows. We took the 22 tram upto the castle. We had been told by an information desk person, that it was at the castle where the largest Christmas market was. Disappointed initially as there was no market, however St. Vitus Cathedral is so beautiful that we preferred it to the... More

Another beautiful cathedral. I can never see too many! It houses the crown jewels and the tomb of Good King Wenceslaus!

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighborhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
