The Stare Mesto is always alive with activity! Attend a concert, sit at a café and people watch, take a carriage ride, or just walk around the historic area. Something is happening day or night to catch your attention. It's filled with wondrous and beautiful historical buildings, churches, and cobblestone streets.

Prague's central tourist attractions. The square has famous churches with marvelous musical programs, the oldest Astronomical Clock, a taste of Prague with architecture and food (although tourist tastes), and the Hard Rock Café.

Old Town is busy and bustling. Lots to look at and if you love architecture, the buildings won't disappoint. Very easy to get to and felt pretty safe walking around as a solo female traveler. Might be a bit different feeling at night though, but nothing more than most cities at night.

Amazing buildings, totally worth a visit. A bit crowded though so mind your pockets. Between 9 and 23 every hour the 12 apostles appear so you're in for a treat.

Obviously this a part of the city you have to visit. Do twice at least, day time and at night to see the buildings illuminated..

In the 5 days we stayed in Prague, I walked through the old town at least 6 times, but still had not gone through all the streets. It was a town full of beautiful old historical buildings, many shops, cafes, etc. We were up early one morning and it was a joy walking through the old town because there were... More

just take an hour without running anywhere, without planning where to go, and simply sit in the main square, maybe with a hotdog or something else (but not inside of the restaurants) and just watch this amazing beautiful square, the Astronomic clock, the statue, the almost taking from a fairytale towers and the people. .never done it before, but it... We first visited Prague Old Town 25 years ago, and it was wonderful. It was a great introduction to Prague and all things Czech. Times have moved on and Prague is now one of the major European tourist attractions and when we visited mid this September it was wall to wall tourists. No sign of ordinary Czech life at all.... Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
