The most significant square of historical Prague, it was founded in the 12th century and has been witness to many historical events. In addition to the Old Town Hall and the Church of Our Lady before Týn, the square is dominated by the Baroque Church of St Nicholas, the Rococo Kinský Palace, the Gothic House at the Stone Bell and the monument to Jan Hus. In the pavement of the square are memorial stones marking the execution of 27 Czech lords in 1621, and the Prague meridian.

A very happening place where you can just spend an entire day roaming, eating, watching. It was super crowded in summers. Only turn off was the commercialization of the space - we see giant Polar Bears and Pandas here that definitely don't have anything to...More

This place is usually packed full of tourists and tour groups. A lot of tourist shops and pricey restaurants. It is good for spending a few hours wondering around, but that is about it.

The square sits in the middle of the older part of Prague. It can be reached via large avenues, or tiny winding streets. Once there, it is a vast cobbled area, with the clock dominating one side, and a wealth of colourful pieces of architecture...More

The old town square is where everyone- local and tourist- comes for a quick drink or connecting with friends or just relaxing in the uniquely Czech environment. I went there thrice during the weekend and never felt bored. Full of life and energy.

Day or night this place is packed with tourists and tour groups. The bars here charge more for less than others. Lots of street artists/entertainers here, watch out for pick pockets though as it's super busy

Great place to walk around and visit shops. It is a good place to do some souvenir shopping and to enjoy the nice weather and cafes. It is a great place to meet people from all over the world, too.

Beautiful buildings and statue, but very crowded and overpriced food stalls. Definitely worth a visit but don't buy any food here. Plenty of cheaper places a few minutes walk away. Unfortunately the anatomical clock was being renovated when I was there.

Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the
medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is
bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický
square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle
in the background, is probably the most beautiful
square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere
of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and

The fabulous St. Thomas Church (Josefska 28/8) definitely has services on Saturdays. Normally at 12:15 and 18:00 in English. Check their website for more details on which chapel, etc.

I use my Charles Schwan's bank account debt card when I travel. It refunds all Atm fees worldwide and gives the bank exchange rate.
