Watch for thieves near atomic clock! At restaurant right next to it, they put one prices out to catch tourists and then charge you 3 times more.

There's a lot to see here - the astrological clock and the big fountain. Also a lot of restaurants full of tourists - you can find cheaper and more interesting places if you walk away from the square! But this place is a must see for tourists - a lot of street artists and street food also. Just beware of... More

The Town square is an amazing place. Usually it is quite crowded and filled with tourists, but still gives you an impression that you've gone back a few centuries. Old style architecture all around,a cathedral, a tower and the famous astronomical clock stand out.

This is one of the must see places in Prague. I recommend going up the clock tower for fantastic views of the city. Mornings are less crowded. Late afternoon and early evening are very, very crowded. There are lots of places nearby serving good food for very reasonable prices.

generally try and avoid the small restaurants at the Old Square. For some strange reason the restaurant waiters and owners are extremely rude and snappy. One even went to the extent of saying "this is avery expensive area.." Maybe they are unable to cope with their own ineptness and therefore take it out on the hapless customers.

Im sure its great in summer as well, because the beauty of the buildings and history and great vibe, but at christmas it is whimsical. The great big trees all light up at night, the stalls of vendors. It is beautiful with many shops, museums, eateries. The walk to the square will be dotted with stops at many shops and... More

Vibrant place to visit day but especially at night. Lots of cafes, restaurants and bars in and around square. Nice just to sit and soak up the atmosphere.

Must have good flat walking shoes to navigate streets and sidewalks and tram rails. You can revisit this area many times.

a lovely place to go to check out the vibe of Prague. You have a selection of restaurants (be wary it is a tourist trap and the prices will be more expensive and if you find their service to be rude you may find extra charges on your bill such as bread and condiments!) and the clock tower and other... Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
