Lots going on at the Old Town Square, including the well known clock. Also, there are usually mimes around and live music. Beautiful outdoor facility. Lots of out door restaurants available. Great place to "people watch".

A square surrounded by cafes, souvenir shops, desperately commercial. Early in the morning one has a chance of appreciating the place.

Prague is the historic city, at Old Town Square, you could see the most important historic buildings, such as Church of Our Lady,Old Town Hall,Kinský Palace.... specially the Astronomical clock, which is a little bit hard to understand. One more thing is you may have some hot wine drink and some roasted pork when visiting the square. That is the local... More

A visit to Prague isnt complete unless you walk through and around the Old Town Square. So many beautiful buildings, so old and all so gracious. Plenty of people about always but thats because its just nice to wander around here and soak in the city. A very enjoyable few hours.

Like I mentioned already in my other comments about Prague, I love the beautifully restored old houses, churches and museums which can be compared a little with Florence or Vienna. The whole ambience and flair is just awesome and if the weather is just right than even more.

Roaming the streets of Prague means nothing unless you visit Old Town Square. Literally a square, it's the home to so many beautiful architectural buildings such as the astronomical clock. Day or night this square will look amazing as the backdrop to your photos. Old meets new here, Pragues finest buildings are within walking distance of some very quaint and... More

My wife and I visited here for our first sights of Prague and it does not disappoint- lovely square with people enjoying the sites, smell of food and the local entertainment. With St. Nicholas church across one corner and tone Astronomical clock on the other, it captures the old world charm of Prague exactly as imagined. Either by day or... More

The Old Town Square is a lovely place to visit day or night. Many people wondering around, local and tourists with all the nice touristic environment of street bands playing lovely music and street shows - we enjoyed the guy 'mastering' the soap bubbles - funny and lovely...

It's not often you get to see so many picturesque and iconic buildings all in the same square. Even with the crowds of people following a flag-waving tour guide, and even with the local touts selling you segway tours or other crap, it's hard to be jaded about such a majestic setting. I suppose it goes without saying that this... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
