Simply beautiful

In sunny and warm day this is just great. Beautiful buildings, but so much people, high prices and thieves.

Currently one of two most important squares in Prague and maybe Czechia and the most important square in the past. It's often crowded and overpriced, but that's predictable. Don't miss the Astronomical clock ("orloj") and it's a good idea to climb to the observation deck of Old Town Hall. If you're visiting during Christmas or Easter, nice fair takes place... More

We were lucky enough to see the clock chiming on the hour. The history behind it is interesting. The square has lots of entertainment. There are loads of side streets with shops, bars and restaurants.

Rain or shine - and we have experienced both! - Old Town Square is the beating heart of Prague. Here you see the architectural gem of Prague, and you get to savor the sweet aromas of roasted ham, cinnamon bread, and more. It is not to be missed! Truly enchanting!!

I was fortunate to get exceptionally beautiful weather during my short stay in Prague. I did manage to spend much of it outdoors in the lovely city.

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
