This square is centrally located in Prague and near the Charles Bridge as well. There are lots of crowds here so keep an eye on your valuables. Go up into the clock tower and see the views, but do yourself a favor and take the elevators up and down.

At first when we arrived in Prague, we were slightly unsure what to do. A friend suggested this place so we thought we would pop along. We liked it so much we went again the next night. The square had a few stools surrounding it with good priced beer and cider, and there was always someone performing on the square.... More

Old Town Square with its old buildings is very difficult to miss. It is populated by a possee of segways and their keepers. Restaurants/cafes in this location are very pricey. Among the cafes are one or two interesting shops to find. A good place to visit at all times of the day.

Totally love this place, it is so vibrant. The sheer number of tour groups can be a bit overwhelming but push on through and stare in wonder at the wonderful buildings. The cafes dotted around the square are great but step a few streets back for a quitter and more peaceful experience. Great to sit in the square for a... More

The Old Town Square is one of the marvels of Prague. You find yourself crossing it often during your visit, and you have to stop and stare each time you see it from a different angle. The sheer size and scale of it demand attention even without the spires of the Old Town Hall and churches, the facades of the... More

I loved all the great architecture, musicians, bubble-wand and street performers, sidewalk cafes and the people-watching of so many cultures and languages pass by. I think Old Town was the most architecturally beautiful area I've been to - everywhere you look there is something to look at and it's all real, not some restored version like in Köln (Cologne).

From buskers blowing bubble, to Klezmer groups and yummy food there is always excitement at Old Town Square. Enjoy the variety of architecture, from Gothic to Renaissance and the safety of the setting.

Definitely worth going to the old square....it's great!! We were tracking down the horoscope clock and it was really worthwhile. There's lots of activities in the square and a throng of people are either in the square ir eating in tbe many restaurants nearby. Do yourself a favor and go!!

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
