A bustling town square.

We stayed very close by and enjoyed walking to and walking by Old Town Square daily while we were in Prague. Lovely statuary and the clock is wonderful to see.

We were here in July and it was incredibly busy with very friendly locals and visitors. We spent ages enjoying the atmosphereand the awesome buildings surrounding the square. Lots of shops to browse in the side streets and restaurants and cafes packed with people. A very pleasant couple of hours in a great old town centre.

Shops, street theaters, coffee shops and more. The square is the central site for tourists in Prague. Visit by day and come back at night, the square magically changes. Safe to wonder around at all hours

This is a must see for any traveller, the surrounding streets are filled with restaurants, cafes, bars, shops and museums as is the square. The architecture is breath taking and plenty of things to see and do, the astronomical clock is nice especially lit up at night. The area is steeped in history. The area is also busy at all... More

Very fun area, lots of shops and restaurants around, some with rooftops. Funniest part if you go is to wait and see how disappointed crowds get when the astronomical clock goes off and it's underwhelming.

Every old European city has a square and Prague is no exception. This beautiful cobblestone area is surrounded by lovely buildings, churches, shops, cafés and, of course, the astronomical clock. It is always filled with people, street artists and activity. The day we were there just happened to mark 700 years of the coronation of their king so there was... More

The square is always vibrant and full of tourists. A lot of activities and attractions take place throughout the day and night along with beautiful buildings all around and famous restaurants. A must-see to everyone who visits Prague.

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
