Just to try, since I don't particularly like spirits. The scene while the absinthe is served is evocative and characteristic. After having tasted it, I prefer to continue with my idea of certain alcohols. Still a young place with very friendly staff.

Beautiful place in the heart of Prague. It looks like a museum, or an alchemist's laboratory, obviously specialized in tasting absinthe. Kind waiters will explain how to taste absinthe, complete with sugar flambéed on the typical spoon. An experience to have at least once! The taste is aniseed, and it's very strong (it almost burns along the esophagus)... in short, it heats and it's good!

In a city where tourists (and tourist traps) are EVERYWHERE, the Absintherie is a breath of fresh air. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and cannot help enough. In particular, Martina was wonderful and made my two friends and I feel so welcome that we stayed sampling the menu for hours on end. This is the perfect place to escape Prague’s tourists and get a feel for an authentic absinthe bar, with beautiful live piano music and friendly faces everywhere you turn.

Dark, gothic feeling bar with cool laid back vibe. Cocktails were lovely, expertly crafted and presented. Some options too for those who don’t like absinthe, like my husband who had a beer. Knowledgeable and friendly staff.

Local located in one of the streets of the Old Town of Prague. It's been on my list for some time. I had marked it after watching a video on YT recommending a visit and we were pleasantly impressed. Furniture that recalls Art Nouveau and nice team. The cocktails we tried were the Absinth Zombie and Six-Toed Cat, both good and not overly charged. Price slightly high.

Within its unassuming exterior belies a great bar with a green hue, some old fashioned artefacts on display and a restored gold cash registe. The bar has a lovely vibe and offers over 100 types of absinth including various amazing cocktails. The menu includes alternative options for those who do not like absinth. The staff were really charming, friendly and welcoming. There was a live pianist on our first night which created a lovely atmosphere. We loved this bar so much we returned the following night.
