From my knowledge, the only permanent market in Prague city. Really small in size, with most stalls selling similar stuff. A mixture of stalls selling fresh fruits, wooden crafts, puppets and local souvenirs. Reasonably priced souvenirs (cheaper compared to souvenir shops near Old Town Hall). We bought a hanging decorative wooden toy for 150Kc (9SGD), which we couldn't find in... More

Nice touristy market with reasonably priced stuff as compared to the new town shops. Sellers are generally friendly. Fruits can be expensive - priced at per 100g, hence after weighing the actual weight of the fruits can be quite expensive. The wooden toys and ornaments are very interesting and good priced. We bought some stuff too! Beware of one stall... More

A very nice small market tucked away close to the Old Town Square. Mainly fruits and vegetables, slightly overpriced but delicious and fresh. There are a few stalls with souvenirs, some of which quite unique. If you want to buy souvenirs, perhaps this is the place although the puppet dolls are limited in terms of choice, however if you are... More

I should have thought more but bought some delicious looking fruit without relishing the price was CZK per 100g. So a punnet of strawberries and a punnet of apricots cost 450CZK. Aside from being much more expensive than the farmers market (I mean much more expensive) the fruit at the bottom of the punnets were rotten / bruised. I'm sure... More

Very good place to buy souvenirs from Prague like wooden toys, Oplatky wafers, magnets, key chains and other knick knacks for reasonable prices. But if you want very good quality wooden toys go to Manufaktura. Place is near old town square. Worth visiting.

Overpriced items, overwhelming amount of everything. Remember to bargain, there are so called "tourist prices". Fruits, vegetables etc. you might want to buy from real farmers markets, there they are sold much more reasonable price.

This market is right outside the pension we stayed at and runs daily from about 9 am to 6 pm. Every time I walked around it, I would spot something new. Most of my little gifts were purchased here...

One of the only markets where I could browse without being hassled. Bought some lovely prints of paintings made by the vendor's wife and saw lots of little trinkets and toys. Obviously the odd stall of tourist tat, but it's to be expected!

We wanted a box of chocolates here. The convenience store nearby charged 120 crowns for the same box that they wanted 165 for at this market. Certainly worth a look, and a fun atmosphere and charming, but watch the prices.

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
