Hi there, how do you plan to go around the Segway ban, which was recently established in Prague? (just search for "prague bans segways" As a Prague resident, I and countless others, are absolutely annoyed to no end with Segways zoooming by on narrow pedestrian paths.
I urge all tourists to avoid taking Segway tours and use a bicycle instead or your own feet!
Hello Vidushaka,
unfortunately i can not address you by your name - i guess you accidentally forgot to sign the mail. If you had created a tripadvisor profile just to ask us a question - you could have easily used any of our company mails, but obviously your goal was to damage our business. Segways are the most popular attraction on Tripadvisor (which is indeed the most popular traveling website). The fact that you are happy about people losing their jobs says something about you as a person. How would you feel if I told you I'd be happy if you lost job? Fortunately I have a different mindset and I am more about creating job opportunities rather than destroying them.
Let me introduce you to the segway situation. Segways has been here in Prague for 9 years already. During the first three years It used to be a popular attraction even for czech people. Since there were not so many companies, the authorities simply didn't care and did absolutely nothing about it. In the next years the segway business started to grow and there were more and more companies. Therefore we created a Segway Association - that was supposed to regulate the segway business. We were constantly trying to make a deal with the politicians and for example regulate the roads for segways but they simply said they had a different opinion. The situation today is what it is because of that.
All means of transport deserve a regulation, which can be easily solved with road signs. Obviously the regulation can not be based just on hoping people will be polite. Unfortunately banning the segways in Prague has nothing to do with regulation, it is more of a disposal. Can you imagine banning other means of transport - train, plane, car ... ?
Segway companies all around Prague have around 300 employees that will lose their jobs. If you read the regulation note from the Prague City Council carefully, for sure you will find your answer. Despite the fact that I do not like your intentions, I would like to thank you for your opinion.
Best regards,
