Absolutely great ride in a unique setting. Krystof was a world class guide. He knows the trails inside out. I brought my own full suspension bike and Krystof smartly guided me over 60km of trails in a natural and urban environment around the Prague area that perfectly matched my riding skills/style and the ability of my equipment. The hills around Prague offer some amazing riding and you find a lot of different features riding in the various trails. Jumps in all sizes, beautiful and challenging rock and root sections, technical single track, and good berms-rhythm flow trails in the deep woods. Krystof expertly linked all these together in one perfect loop with some fantastic views over Prague for an awesome day of riding, and even worked in a stop at a small local biergarten at the end. The team at Biko Adventures are true professionals and are both knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. The online booking process was smooth and easy even though I booked last minute, and they got back to me right away even though it was after the shop closed. I will definitely be back to ride with them again!

This was yet another great cross-country skiing tour with Toby to the Bedřichov area. Despite the fact that this season there was very little snow, the conditions were very good, and we even managed to do 25 km. All the best -- BIKO is a fantastic tour operator!

We, my 3 sons and I, went to Prague during the month of Nov.2015 and booked an outdoor hiking trip to The Czech Paradise with Biko. The experience was fantastic and unforgettable. The place is truly magical.
Our guide Marek was a very safe driver and a fun, courteous, respectful and knowledgeable tour guide. We had a blast.
After 4-5 hours hiking, Marek took us to this lovely picturesque town called, Sobotka (I hope I spelled it right) for lunch. The food was delicious and the price even better.
We can't wait to repeat this outdoor trip when we go back to Prague.
Thanks to Biko AND Marek for showing us the outdoor beauty of the Czech Republic and the nice people that live in this country.

We were planning our 6-7 week holiday from New Zealand to Europe....and decided we were going to see new countries on this trip....so well over 12 months out we start with researching a new destination, we stumbled across The Honest Guide in Prague......and loved what we saw.....

From there we found a great food tour - A Taste of Prague, who happen to have a fabulous apartment. We booked the tour, booked the accommodation and mentioned we would like to hire bikes while were were in Prague - always a great way to see a city. Our hosts recommended Biko.

We were looking at a quick excursion on ebikes around Prague while we were there for a few nights at the start of our holiday. Sadly, the more we looked, the more we realised we didn’t want a day tour, we want an ebike holiday! And so it began. We were in touch with Biko and had excellent communication with Filippo who gave us great ideas and suggestions. We settled on a Prague to Vienna ebike trip! We arrived from New Zealand after a long arduous flight and settled into Prague for a few days to get over our jet lag. Then finally the day arrived....and Toby was sent to pick us up from our apartment and he stowed our luggage into the van and we headed off to Biko HQ.

We arrived at the shop, were welcomed by the staff who exuded enthusiasm, dished out coffee and got us even more excited for what we were about to embark on! We were fitted for our ebikes, quick foto outside the store and then we were off with Lucia leading the way from Prague to Karlstejn Castle....after a bite to eat in town and a wander up to the castle we awaited for the Van and Toby who was bringing our 2 new bike companions who were joining us for the rest of the week long tour.

From there we ebiked our way thru to Vienna via Hluboka, to Cesky Krumlov, to Slavonice to Wachau Valley..and along the way we saw many gorgeous towns, stunning countryside, did some awesome tourist activities, stayed in fantastic accommodation and enjoyed great food, tasty beverages along the way....seriously plenty of snack and hydration stops throughout the bike ride each day...fruit, nuts, energy bars, water, even freshly brewed espresso and local chocolate treats too.

Lucia and Toby were fantastic.....nothing was too much trouble and they chose great destinations for dining options. With myself being a Vegetarian, Lucia was on hand to ensure I tried such a variety of food that I would never have opted for...thank you Lucia! Toby was more than capable to ensure the rest of the group sampled plenty of great cuisine too.

While we biked to our destination accommodation, we knew that the van would have our luggage already checked into our rooms for our arrival.

Our final farewell was in a vineyard where we sampled some local wine and then watched a fantastic video of our tour that both Toby and Lucia had taken - Toby had somehow edited footage from Go-pros, drone shots and plenty of fotos along the way... a special reminder of our tour with you all....thank you!

Toby had spent time in NZ so we shared a lot of great kiwi humour with him...I’m sure Lucia is still wondering what on earth we all found so funny, as the Americans no doubt did too!

You both made our first trip to Czech Republic amazing...and it certainly wont be the last! We are already looking at Biko for our next trip in 2021 - this time a little further afield in Europe... there are so many more biking adventures to be had!

We couldn’t fault Biko, their guides, their bikes, their organisational skills....I highly recommend that you let them look after you on your adventure!

I was in Prague for a weekend solo extending a business trip. Had limited time and wanted to see all that I could so I booked with Biko a 10k early morning run on Saturday morning. Before tourists had left their hotel rooms I had seen the whole city jogging with Marek, heard its history and culture along the way and also got in a nice sweat. Marek met me at my hotel at 7 and off we went. We started in the old center, crossed the Charles Bridge which was really neat since it was empty, climbed some nearby hills through parks with stunning vistas, through the church then the castle then through the Jewish quarter and back. About two hours all in for the 10k jog although we also stopped for pictures and history along the way. Could be done in less time if you really want to push it. We covered every major site recommended in every "weekend I. Prague guide". We covered them to the sunrise. Marek's English skills were great and much better than my Czech so we were able to have a nice conversation while jogging. An awesome way to begin the day and highly recommended.

One tip: Prague is packed with tourists during the summer so would highly recommend an early start.

I had so much fun on the jog that I booked the Prague Parks Mountain Biking ride the following morning to experience life outside of the old city and also get another great workout in. Filipo and I took the bikes out and covered some serious ground in the nearby parks. I was in a very well maintained Giant hard tail. We chatted about history, culture and current politics between single tracks and up/down efforts. The route covers the less explored part of Prague that I'd bet most locals haven't even experienced. Towards the end of the ride we stopped for a coffee and ping pong match then headed back to Biko's store.

Biko is a very professional company -- prompt communication, reliable and well operated. They can customize pretty much anything you're looking to do.

I was there merely two days and thanks to Biko, when I boarded my 6am flight back to the US, I truly felt like I came and conquered.

Biko Adventures runs a great operation! Our group booked a day hike in Cesky Raj, or "Bohemian Paradise", and as we were a private group, instead of meeting at their shop, we were picked up right at 8 am from our apartment by Marek and Radek, our knowledgeable and very friendly guides. We were driven about 90 minutes out of the city, and had a wonderful 4 hour hike through grottoes of sandstone rock formations, magical moss and fern gardens. There were plenty of opportunities for photo-ops, and enough up and down to give us all a good workout. We had a late lunch in a local restaurant before returning to Prague by about 4 pm. The 2000 CZK (about 80$) per person included the round trip, guides, and park entry fees (lunch not included, but inexpensive and tasty). Cesky Raj has multiple paths, and it was great to have guides to keep us from getting lost, as well as providing lots of information about the area and the Czech Republic in general. Super easy going day, stunning scenery, and a lovely way to explore the countryside outside of Prague. Highly recommend the experience and Biko!

My husband and I spent 4 days in Prague this July. We did all the regular sites and ate yummy food for the first three days, eagerly awaiting our day on the bikes with Biko. We chose the Easy Prague Parks because I was still nursing my knee after April surgery. I'd call the trip Easy/Medium because there definitely was some tricky declines single track and it was longer than just a couple hours. Prague has a park system that is incredible...they all connect. We spent about four hours winding around the city through these parks. Such variety and views! It was the perfect ride for us. The highlight, of course, was Filippo, the owner and guide. He is wonderful, friendly, informative and safe. Miklaus also came to learn the trail and he was fantastic too! We were spoiled. There were many highlights but one memorable one was mid-way stopping for a snack where we were introduced to the most delicious blueberry dumplings. I have to learn to make them! Next time in Prague we will have to do the Great Escape...I'll be ready. Oh, and definitely splurge for the photo option. Filippo is an amazing photographer! By the way, he designed his own website because he has that many skills.

I am a discriminating consumer who rarely feels compelled to provide feedback about a travel experience. That is until I booked a mountain biking tour with Bikoadventures in early October. I am a very fit and competitive road cyclist. I haven't been on a mountain bike in 20 yrs, but I figured I'd swallow my pride and ride "The Great Escape" for the workout.
I met my guide Filippo at the shop the morning of the ride I was immediately put at ease by his friendly and easy going manner. When we began our ride I was also very impressed by Filippo's ability to quickly assess my off road skill set and customize the existing route to keep me out of trouble, yet still allow me to enjoy a strenuous workout.
In addition to a physical experience, it was clear to me that Filippo wanted me to be inspired on an emotional level. "The Great Escape" has a great deal of beautiful scenery and thought provoking sights. I will never forget riding along a pasture where sheep were grazing and later stopping near acres of freshly tilled farm land to view an old Communist housing development in the distance.
Throughout the ride Filippo acted as a guide and a generous host. He is truly a warm and friendly person who is very concerned about providing his customers with a memorable riding experience.
So road riders have no fear, and put a ride with Bikoadventures at the top of your to do list when you visit Prague.

My wife and I just got back from a trip to Prague and we spent half a day doing the Prague Parks tour. It was great, our guide was Mark, and he was super laid back and easy going guy. After biking around the parks and villages, we finally made it to the beer garden overlooking the city. While we were sitting there about to get some brew, Filippo showed up and decided to join us for the remainder of our trip, it is clear he just loves to ride. The whole day was very relaxed, and fun, we learned a lot, and saw many things that the standard Prague tourist never even hears about. First rate all the way, and I am already considering a return trip for the Singletrack Paradise...

A friend and I booked up the Road to Karljstein off-road during a long weekend trip to Prague in late November 2011 (an unusually mild one!). I was a little anxious about doing the off-road version as I didn't have any previous off-roading experience, but it appealed to me more than the on-road version and my more experienced off-roader buddy assured me I'd be fine, so we decided to go for it. The description on the website is pretty much spot on. It is pretty hard going in places, with some tough up hills and exhilarating downs. It probably pays to be relatively fit, and either fairly experienced / brave / stupid (like me) for some of the more hairy down hill sections. I can also add that from experience, going on a guided beer tour the night before and consuming large amounts of Czech beer is not the best preparation for this trip (although it does make for a damn good night out!).

We met our excellent guide Filippo at a local bike hire shop, as it was out of season so his regular bikes had gone back. After a short Metro ride to the outskirts of Prague, our journey began through one of the old Communist suburbs. After the first of three 'substantial' up hills (a good hangover cure!), we soon hit the forest and the true off-road tracks. I found it fascinating looking at the little cottages we passed scattered in the middle of the forest, a throw back to Communist times, when foreign holidays were not an option. Some parts of the forest were a bit on the muddy side (hardly surprising given the time of year), which made for some tricky riding but excellent fun. Upon leaving the first section of forest we soon passed a small herd of deer grazing in a field next to the road, which was a bonus, before passing through some smaller more traditional Czech villages. Next followed one of the most gruelling sections of the trip, a seemingly never-ending up hill along the side of a field. Thankfully this section also has some of the most beautiful scenery, so you have a good excuse to take regular 'photo stops' to get your breath back. At this point in the trip you have a decision to make... take on another up hill and go to see the canyon, or head straight to the castle. Rather surprisingly we had just about enough energy at this point to go for the canyon option, and I'm glad we did as it's a beautiful spot and well worth checking out. The final forest section has the most exhilarating down hill of the trip, which really gets your adrenaline going. Finally the forest clears to reveal the stunning Karljstein castle looming up right in front of you. It really is a spectacular sight, and makes the all the effort worth while. We had just enough time in Karljstein to have a quick look around the castle before grabbing some food, and catching the train back to Prague.

During the entire trip Filippo (also the creator of BIKO) was very informative about the places we visited, and we made regular stops for him to point out things of interest. Although he's only lived in Prague for a few years he really knows his history, and it's clear he is very passionate about it. Nothing was too much trouble for the guy, and he is a very warm and friendly character. On top of all of this he's also a talented photographer, and within a couple of days he had e-mailed me a set of professionally processed photos of the trip, what a bonus!

In summary, if you like biking and getting outdoors, or just fancy doing something a bit different then I can't recommend BIKO tours enough. Whether you go for one of the easier on-road, or a more demanding off-road tour, it's a fantastic way of seeing a different side of Prague (and beyond).
