One of the most popular and best-known clubs, Blues Sklep features live Jazz, Blues and even some folk music every night in a hip and romantic cellar with dim lights and small intimate tables. Blues Sklep is open daily from 7 p.m.- 2:30 a.m. and showcases live music from 9 p.m. - midnight. We wanted to find something cozy! The bar is off a small street and is downstairs in some sort of cellar! It had great acoustics and wonderful atmosphere! There was a cover of 105 Czech kr. to get in but so worth it! It was an older crowd, a little Bohemian, and perfect to people watch!

We totally enjoyed the Chicago blues played by Bohemian Blues Quartet (violinist joined for several songs and made them absolutely mind-blowing). Must-go place in Prague if you like blues. Although, there is disadvantage - you should be either smoker or in good smoke-resistant shape. Half hour after start of a concert be prepared to become a passive smoker for a... More

We visited after dinner. It's a very small place and some of the tables do not have a view of the band. The concert was fun, even though a bit amateurish. The downside for us was that it's a smoking allowed place, and it's so small that you we ended up a bit fed up with all the smoke If... More

Went here last Saturday and saw a great band called El Flecha. We go to a lot of venues to see live music in different countries. The band themselves were great but we were annoyed that when we entered we were not informed they were about to finish their set, as the guy in chsrge asked us for the full... More

We heard about this place and decided to visit. A small, underground club. They were warm and welcoming and the beer is very inexpensive. We had a very good time. On the down side, there's no food on the menu and there's a large section of the club in which you can't see the stage. Still very much worth a... More

If you like blues this is the place to go. Tiny venue, damp and musty but a great atmosphere. We saw the excellent 5:50 Band who played Classic British and American blues / rock (Clapton /Cream etc.). Drinks were good value. What more do you want.

We found this place from Rough Guide / Lonely Planet and it's exactly what is says on the tin - a tiny blues club in an old cellar. We saw the stonkingly good Kingsize Boogiemen (think Dr Feelgood, Nine below Zero, etc) for 150czk (for all three of us !), drank top notch beer and wine at local prices (e.g. £1... More

Made a reservation to see a local act called Anna Danilukova and Band. Our table was ready when we arrived. Anna and her band were very entertaining. The Piano player was awesome. The bass player was quite funny. Anna sang a bit of blues, jazz and funk. The band even broke out some Chaka Khan. Nice venue and evening. IMPORTANT... More

Went in for a boxing day blues gig and were pleasantly surprised. It's a cellar bar which is always nice, but if you're not a fan of low cellar ceilings, smoke and cosy atmosphere then you're better of in a nightclub or something. Yes you can not see the entire stage from all of the tables but it's not an... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
