When you run out of things to do in Prague, a day trip here will give you a chance to connect with nature. On our trips from the US we seldom have time to do that, as it is somewhat of a distance from Mala Strana where we usually are staying and Petrin and Kampa parks are much closer.
I love it for the nice memories I have from years past, when I studied at the technical university nearby- skipping a lecture or two to relax and enjoy the scenery. Those were the good days:)

Walk the paths, or bike, and feel the history as the steep cliffs around scream the history of Wild Sarka's tale. I love this park. Beautiful and rarely feeling full and with a beautiful middle of the forest, stream fed pools in the summer season. Come sit by the fire, eat Vegetarian or traditional meat foods, or just relax;). Easy tram, bus or taxi ride. A worthwhile pause from the city madness.

I love to hike here in spring, in summer, in autumn and in winter, I can never get enough. The wild nature just few minutes far from the city centre is unbelievable. I always find something new, new paths, ways, views...if you look for some serenity after an exhausting day in the city and you do not want to travel far, this is the place where to go.

The natural reserve is practically in the city with easy access either by car or public transportation. A short walk in and you'll find yourself surrounded by nature - rocky cliffs, old trees and stream all along the way. The walk is easy and if you keep on the main track you should have no issues with a stroller (we had one). If your kids are a bit older you can take one of the paths that lead into the forest itself. It was a hot day, however under the trees the weather is really nice. Great for hiking, jogging or biking. Along the main track there is a swimming pool facility and a restaurant. Some may like it some may not. I didn't. The major downside is that the water is dirty, so we couldn't enjoy it, it also smells. What a pity.

Travelled from the main area of Prague out to Divoka Sarka and it was so worth it. Easy to get to by catching the underground from Mustek A to Nadrazi Veleslavin and then catching the 119 to Divoka Sarka. You walk behind the McDonald's and you're there.
It's a beautiful peaceful place with a warm atmosphere and great space to walk and chat in nature. Also saw many cyclists as there is a cycle trail running through it.
Would definitely recommend if travelling to Prague as it's so easy to get to and makes a lovely part of the trip. We spent about 3 hours there which was good.
Go see!

Tired of seeing all the same busy tourist attractions!? Then go here! This place was an adventure in itself to just get to from Prague's old town. I took the metro green line all the way to Dejvika and then took the tram line 26 (there are other trams going to Dejivika just don't remember the numbers). The tram takes you all the way to the park. You get off the tram and head towards McDonald's and then you will see the path to it. It was so pretty to see and get to see some green! I went to several parks in Prague and this one was my favorite!!

If you want a gentle walk through spectacular countryside while in Prague, this is for you. Take tram 20 from the city centre or from Dejvicka metro station to the terminus at Divoka Sarka, walk on for a short distance, and then follow the signs to the right. The road will take you through a wonderful narrow gorge next to a stream through beautiful woods. There's a cafe after a few miles bit we kept on for a bit over an hour (about 6 km) to Chorvatsky Mlyn restaurant, from where there are regular buses back to Dejvicka. There isn't a dull bit on the walk. And the restaurant serves good soup and great and inexpensive fish meals.
Apart from a short stretch it's all on quiet tarred roads - one van passed while we were walking.
You can carry on following the stream till it joins the Vltava river at Baba (we did) but I wouldn't recommend it. If you want a longer walk there were lots of enticing oaths off the main route.

Divoka Sharka is a great wonderful forest park on the outskirts of Prague. This place is full of ancient legends about Medieval Amazons. Theyfought with men and tried to live independently. There is a pretty rock massif in the middle of this park, nice lake and mysterious and dangerous dungeons..... This park is very comfortable for biking and walking!!!

Wonderful parklands just a short tram ride from the Prague city centre. Take the number 20 tram right to the end stop and you are there. The park covers several hectares and includes bike paths, a lake, grassy areas and large rocky escarpments that you can climb up or take the easy walk track to the top of. Great places for sunbathing and taking in the view. We even saw a small snake as we climbed up the rocks. A great place for photos and a picnic.

This was amazing trip here. We come during a 3-day business trip to Prague for 2 h here. Big colorful area on autumn. No people, no history no beer. Just relax!
