Prague Ghosts and Legends of Old Town Walking Tour

209 reviews
Take a walk through the shadows of Prague on a haunted history tour that reveals the city’s sinister side. Follow a guide along the cobblestone lanes and through lamp-lit squares of the UNESCO-listed old town, passing by the sites of murders, crimes, alchemy, ghost sightings, and other unsolved mysteries. It's a spooky way to kick off an evening in one of the oldest parts of town.

A jazz night seemed like a very pleasant way to spend time. We booked seats at Jazz Republic via the internet and chose a table very close to the stage. That's because that night we enjoyed live music. Privilege of the Blue was the band that played. The band's guitarist, Karel Barta, I understand he's quite famous in the Czech Republic. The atmosphere was very pleasant, the drinks at the bar and the snakes had reasonable prices, the music was nice. All in all, a successful evening!

We went on a Friday night and paid a small charge to enter (there’s a charge on the door for both Friday and Saturday nights for the first half if you want to view the show). Venue is quite small but cosy, drinks are reasonably priced and the music was great.

On Saturday night, between dinner and the club, we were looking for a sit-down place with nice music and drinks. Jazz Republic was perfect for our needs. We walked in - no entry charge - and found all the tables in the main concert area fully occupied. We went through to the bar area, which is quite small but did the job. The selection behind the bar was slight and basic. Service was very good and prices were very reasonable. We were lucky enough to get a table near the bar by the time we got our drinks. Note: while at the bar you can hear the music, but it's away from the main viewing area. It was also quite warm, which I would not complain about (it was -1°C outside). The place has clearly seen its share of famous musicians, as I noticed photos and memorabilia of B. B. King and a few others on the walls. The music stopped at around midnight and we left around quarter past.

First time to visit a jazz bar and it did not disappoint. This was right next to our hotel and thought to try it out. We were there just after 8pm on a Friday night and were charged for entry. The drinks and snacks are reasonably priced too Would recommend
