Neighborhood: Malá Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.

- Aneta K2 contributionsNice gem in the middle of PragueI visited the museum with my foreign friend to show him a part of Czech culture and try some unique shots. The exhibition was fabulous, not a boring museum, we especially liked the VR where we became plum. In the end, there were also tasting 3 shots and tasty tapas. We had a great time and the place must be great also is summer on the patio. We will be back.Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten February 27, 2024

- Iain LGlasgow, United Kingdom48 contributionsExcellent museum - well worth a visit! Here you learn how they make their grape brandy, including a VR experience that is very enjoyable. You get 3 shots of brandy or a cocktail and a few canapes at the end of the tour. If you like single malt whisky, they also do a Czech version called Gold Cock and it is very good for the price charged. Had a couple of them after the shots and they were lovely. Highly recommended.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 14, 2024
- AT226677102 contributionsInteresting visitWe booked this as it was something a bit different and it's quiet, not busy with tourists at all. The tour was interesting and the different rooms work well. The VR experience of becoming a plum was good fun. The shots at the end were far too strong for us, 50% alcohol so we found them difficult to drink!Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 2, 2024
- Ali Y10 contributionsTraditional CzechAccidentally came across this museum on our first full day in Prague. The 5D life of a plum experience was fun. Followed by scrumptious snacks and quite flammable shots of liquor!Visited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 15, 2024

As snow was falling heavily my twin brother Stephen and I were pub and bar hopping around the wonderful Lesser Town ( Mala Strana ) when we decided to drop into Slivovitz Museum - R.Jelinek ,a destination that's got every thing I love about a museum/ tavern.
This is an interactive museum dedicated to the production of the famous plum spirit slivovitz, the museum looks interesting but we visited the tap room which was cool.
The tavern section is superb ,a very eye catching serving bar ,wonderful decor and furnishings and lots of seating options both inside and outside in their lovely courtyard,it's a great tavern to check out .
We ordered the famous spirit slivovitz ,strong and very warming ,it was just so good being in such a great tavern enjoying a quality spirit.
After our drinks I purchased a bottle of this famous spirit to bring back to my home town of Liverpool from the on site souvenir shop before we moved on.
Slivovitz Museum R.Jelinek is easy to locate along U Luzickeho Seminare.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Sunday,11am till 8pm.
Well worth checking out if you're in the Lesser Town.

Happened upon this museum while strolling in the new town and decided to try the tour and tasting. They run each 15 minutes even if there is only one person. Great interactive exhibits including the “life of the plum” - good use of the goggles and only occasionally unnerving motion of the “ride”. Great to test the slivovitz and also purchased some- and most of the snacks were good. Be sure to request non-pork if one doesnt eat it. Quite creative and rare experience that helped understand the industry and the impact of czechia’ tumultous history.

We came in here looking to try some of their historic spirits. They have some nice sampling platters that you can try, up to 5 samples in the batch. If you have a large enough group you can get a few of their samples and pass them around. They have the ability to sit in a small courtyard or inside in their cafe. Overall we found the spirits to be different from what we are normally used to, and used it as a little break in our day when we were on Lesser Town. They do have a tour that you can do which is self guided, but we skipped that and went right in for the samples.

Prague is amazing and there are so many great places to visit. This is one of them. A great tour that tells you a concise story of an amazing iconic brand in the Czech Republic. I have been visiting Prague since 1991 and now am happy there is a place like this that tells the story of this great company. Wonderful, fun and informative your followed by a great tasting. We had lunch from the menu which was excellent. We had other plans for lunch but ended up eating here. No regrets if you spend your precious time in Prague here.

From two Scots who have visited many distilleries, this the best distillery tour we have ever been on. We especially enjoyed the 3D Story of the Plum. We loved the Premium Tasting with 3 flight examples and finger food. Thanks to Ondrej Rozlilek for a marvellous service.

What an amazing experience! Fantastic high end small museum with an amazing story , cinema experience and a VR experience which is a day in the life of a plum being made into their brandy. Didn't have to buy in advance just walked in but it is a tuesday. After we tried their experience of 3 premium brandy's which are paired with canapes. Warning , this is strong stuff and I'm not sure I'm making much sense anymore. 😂
