During a recent visit to Prague, we arranged a private tour over 2 days with Klara from Prague Extravaganza Free Tours, which we can highly recommend. We’d seen Klara’s company in the DK Eyewitness Guide to Prague, had a look at the website and saw that she also did private tours.

The tour was approx. £30 per hour for 2 people, and can be completely tailored to your requirements. This was really important to me and my husband as I suffer from osteo-arthritis in both knees, and by doing a private tour, Klara was able to build in coffee/beer/ice cream/lunch breaks and a sit down when I needed it. We went to 2 great restaurants for lunch, and she made some great suggestions for local specialities.

Day 1 we covered the Castle complex and Petrin Hill, and Day 2 was the Charles Bridge, Old Town and Wenceslas Square.

Klara is a licensed guide and very knowledgeable about Czech history (past and more recent), friendly with a good sense of humour She gave us a lot of historical facts, legends and a local perspective and always brought the subject to “life”.

By doing a walking tour, and taking public transport (tram, metro, funicular) when needed, this is sustainable tourism at its best.

We can’t recommend Prague Extravaganza Tours highly enough.

Dear Lorna and Phil Thank you so much for your time writing such an amazing review. It means a lot to me and my small business. It was very refreshing to prepare itinerary outside the main touristy area and exploring less visited places of Prague. I have to say, that you are very inspiring lovely couple :) I wish you all the best and have a blast in Grenada and Caribbean next year! Kind regards, Klara founder & tour guide

We did 2 of the free walking tours over 2 days- old town+Jewish quarter first with Tereza, then Charles Bridge+Prague castle on the second day with Josh. As a born and bred local tereza gave us a feel for the real Prague, through captivating, intimate and at times personal stories. It was a small group just after new years and I'm guessing the cold kept people away as the temp plummeted during the afternoon tour but we had such a great experience in spite of it. Josh was also very friendly, would definitely recommend these tours!! They made our whole holiday in Prague worthwhile.

We had the marvelous Tereza show us round the key points of Prague today. A very informative, knowledgeable tour with a healthy amount of laughs thrown in for good measure. Couldn't recommend more highly, we are obviously in unusual times post covid, this didn't distract from the experience and is a rare opportunity to do the main attractions minus the big crowds. We covered a lot of ground, old town, the Jewish quarter, Charles bridge, lesser town and the castle ending at the Cathedral. Discussing the architectural and historical relevance of the major landmarks. We did two tours back to back totaling 4 hours (11am-3pm).
Tereza's passion and love for her home city really shone through.
Thank you Tereza it was a special day! 🤗

We had originally booked only 1 tour and ended up doing both tours of the day because our guide Tereza was so interesting! She really is an amazing guide, and obviously loves her city. She will answer any of the questions you have about Prague. We did the old town + jewish quarter and then visited the castle and the Charles Bridge. Highly recommend doing a free walking tour, because there are so many hidden things in this city!

Tereza is extremely educated in Prague and Czech Republic history and brings that history to life with her interesting stories. Her tour is very organized, and she has a great rapport with the participants. She also has suggestions for places to eat and drink.

We had a very nice experience doing the freetour with Yaroslav. We intended to do only the old center tour. But afterwards we decided to join for the next tour: Charles bridge and the castle. Yaroslav did a great job. He knew a lot about architecture, history and food and beer! It was a fantastic tour!

After the tour he even took us to his favorite restaurant and showed us some typical Cech cuisine.

Jaroslav was an excellent guide. He was very knowledgeable, we learned lot of what we saw during the tour. His English was very good and when asked he gave us lots of handy tips and advice of where buy water, eat and where to enjoy the views. He was fun and entertaining and we would go on a tour with him again without any hesitation.

Going for a walking tour is one of the best ways to see any new city in Europe.

On day 1 of our trip we did the tour of the Old Town and Jewish Quarter with Tereza. She was absolutely brilliant. Her story telling really made the city come alive. Her knowledge of the history was outstanding.

Highlights of the tour were the Astronomical Clock and the explanation of its history and how it works. In the Jewish Quarter Tereza told us a beautiful story of her family and experiences.

I enjoyed the tour so much that the following day I did the tour of Charles Bridge and the Catsle. This time Simon was our guide.

This was also a very good tour littered with lots fun facts about the saints, and King Charles.

We were so fortunate to have Teresa as our guide for the Old Town and Jewish Quarter Tour today. Teresa covered so much history, while pointing out important landmarks and cultural sites. She also gave us tips about some good authentic non-touristy restaurants and additional sites we might want to visit during our stay. Prague is a beautiful city, rich is culture and beauty, and Teresa, introduced the city to us, with so much information and enthusiasm, humor and warmth. Thank you for making our first day visiting your beautiful city such a memorable one.

My girlfriend and I booked the free Old Town and Jewish Quarters tour and our Guide, Tereza was not only well versed and knowledgeable but also quite entertaining. She even provided me with extra historical details after I mentioned my enthusiasm for history and she was able to answer every question in the group. She also uses a points game to keep everybody included and is in general very joyful to be around. She also gave us good pointers to where to eat, where to safely change money and recommended us other activities! If you want a good overview of Prague I recommend booking this tour for your first day. It was definitely my highlight of Prague.
