We used Marketa, owner of Caput Regni Tours, for an all day private tour to Cesky Krumlov and Hluboka Castle and we could not have been happier. We travel extensively and have had ok guides , good guides and excellent guides. Marketa was nothing short of excellent. Her knowledge of Czech history was extensive, her English was exemplary and she was fun! When I initially contacted her ( based on recommendations from the TA forum and Rick Steves) she responded promptly and offered suggestions on places we could go based on our interests.
On the day of the tour Marketa was prompt and the driver and car he used were perfect- the van large, clean and well maintained and the driver attentive. During our drive out to Cesky Krumlov she spoke about life during communism and after. It was fascinating. We really could not have found an better guide. I highly recommend using Marketa at Caput Regni Tours!

After reading so many stellar reviews for this company we booked a tour for eight of us for a half day tour of the castle district in Prague. It was our first full day in Prague and our guide Marky was exceptional. She was informative, willing to stop and discuss anything when we asked, and answered all our questions. She took us to sites we never would have found on our own. We have traveled quite a bit, and we all thought Marky was one of the best tour guides we have ever had in any country.
We highly recommend this company for your travel to Prague!

We just spent two days with Marketa for our first time in Prague - and we're coming away knowing and having enjoyed more than we ever thought possible.
This trip was delayed two years due to Covid. She kept us on her schedule, and was ready for us when things were re-booked.
We visited all of the top attractions recommended on the leading travel sites and tour books, yet didn't feel rushed. She's very personable, candid, and willing to work with the client to meet their needs. She gave us plenty of suggestions for what to do in our free time, and they all turned out to be great.
I would definitely recommend her for couples and small groups (8 or less) and families.

I took 3 tours with Marketa in 2018 so when I went back to Prague in October 2021 I knew I wanted to book 3 more tours with her. Marketa is am amazing tour guide. She gears her tours towards what you are interested in and is very friendly as well as knowledgeable. It feels more like you are sightseeing with a friend. I love seeing out of the way places and Marketa did not disappoint us. She took us to places we would have never found on our own. If you are visiting Prague I would highly recommend booking a tour with Marketa. I know I will on my next visit hopefully in the fall of 2022.

This was my third birthday trip to Prague and every trip I have hired Marketa to do 2 or 3 tours. I would not think of hiring anyone else. She is an amazing tour guide who listens to what your interests are and personalizes the tour accordingly. It feels more like you are being shown around by a family member instead of stranger. She is warm and inviting and adds the right amount of history to make it interesting and very enjoyable. The next time I return I will contact her for more tours. I would highly recommend her!

We just finished a tour with Marketa today. It was a fun experience for our 5 year old as she engaged him with questions and played a “look for the signs” game. He normally gets bored on tours but we could see that he was thoroughly enjoying this one.
She took us to an off the beaten path walk where she showed us interesting sights and places, including recommendations on where to go for food and other attractions not on the normal tourist map. The tour felt like a walk with a friend rather than a business.
Very knowledgeable and personable, I highly recommend a personalised tour with Marketa and team!

My wife and I spent two 1/2 days with Marketa and we would highly recommend her if you are visiting Prague. We learned about both Old and New Prague and the historical happenings in WWII, the Communist Era and today. We could not have explored the detail that she showed us on our own. We would definitely use her again if we visited Prague.

A very good friend recommend Marketa as a tour guide during our stay in Prague - she made our visit much more remarkable. Extremely gregarious, extremely knowledgeable, Marketa created a tour tailored to our desire to learn more about the old and new towns of Prague. We will never forget the year the construction of the Charles Bridge began (1357). With her guidance, we saw more and learned more than we ever would have if we were left on our own. She is much more than a guide, she became a new friend. Thank you, Marketa for making our visit extremely memorable.

Marketa was absolutely first rate and has our unqualified recommendation. We met at the end of Sept 2022. We spent two days with her, covering, of course, the main "must sees," but also some of the lesser known but fascinating parts of Prague as well. Marketa wanted to know what particular areas of interest we had (e.g., "history", "WWII history", "arts', "culture" etc.") and then customized what she explained and what we saw and learned appropriately. It was a great experience and felt that we came away with not only a deeper knowledge about about Prague but the Czech Republic and the wider area of Central Europe as well. We gained a deep appreciation for the people, the culture and the events over the centuries that have shaped them. We toured with Marketa early in our stay, so that we would be more informed when we went off on our own as to the context of what we were seeing. We amazed ourselves later by recognizing so many things that we knew we would have just passed by and never noticed or appreciated but only did because of her teaching. Next time we're back in Prague, we'll try to hook up with Marketa again and learn even more! She was fun, personable and so knowledgeable! We couldn't recommend her services more!

Marketa was an awesome tour guide! We were looking for a 3-4 high-level tour of Prague, and she sure packed a lot into our 4 hours! Friendly, knowledgeable, can talk about history, current culture, food options, and other things in Prague to visit on our own time. She even arranged a lunch reservation for us at her favorite lunch location, near the Castle. She helped us to understand navigating the public transportation (both below and above ground). I would highly recommend tour-time with Marketa, while in "Praha!"

Generally speaking I suggest to the first time visitors to take 2x half-day tours (2x 4 hours) to discover both parts of the historic city center divided by the river Vltava during 2 days.

Yes, it is possible to arrange 4 hours sightseeing tour around Prague (with a van support if you like) and then to go to Terezin concentration camp for 5-6hours trip. If you start at 8.30am, you could have a lunch break from 12.30-1.30pm. The trip to Terezin will start at 1.30pm till 6.30/7pm. During the 4 hours tour we would be pleased to offer you 2 tram tickets free-of-charge that you could use to get up the hill to visit the Castle. Hi! The length of the tour depends on your interests and how many sights you would like to discover. I recommend the introduction tour takes 4 hours. It is a walking tour unless you indicate otherwise. I could arrange a car/van support if necessary and/or we could take a public transportation, too.
