Colorado Dave made our time in Prague a lot more interesting. The tour lasted 3 hours, and we learnt a lot more than expected for a free tour. Dave comes from a history and philosophy background, so he was able to summarize Czech and European history, while also providing social commentary regarding different cultural aspects, and food / drinks recommendations.... I don't usually go to these sort of guided tour things, but I'm glad I did in this case. I took the free walking tour and it was great! Our guide was a Czech guy called David and he was really friendly and likeable. He both made us laugh and have a good time, as well as educate us about... More

I returned to Prague for the second time this summer with 2 friends. Only having a short time in the city, we decided to do a free walking tour, Joshua was amazing! We learned so much and had a ton of fun! It was so great, that we decided to also do the Castle tour that evening! Givi was another... More

After backpacking for almost 9 weeks I have done many free walking tours in Europe, but this one in Prague has been the best I've experienced. Our tour guide Amanda was so knowledgeable and had an obvious passion for the city which made learning from her very enjoyable. A must do when in Prague!!

My three friends and I had a really fun time on the castle tour with Givi. He was enthusiastic and also quite funny. The tour was really informative about the Castle and surrounding area - 100% worth what we paid! There's thing about these tours is that you learn stuff you would never have found out on your own!

It was interesting but very long. Wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated because you will be walking 9 to 10 miles. Astronomical clock in market square is good but the figures that pop out on the hour are very hard to see in noon time sun. Best part was sitting at café people watching.

We did a tour with Tate today and it was AMAZING!! I highly recommend it! You learn a lot with a good mixture of history, politics and fun facts! Moreover, its for free but of course you have to give a tip. But you will love to tip Tate! Dont think about it, just DO IT!

Ashleigh was a phenomenal guide! I've never in my life seen such amazing showmanship, warmth, passion and depth of knowledge in a guide. Absolutely breath-taking!!! He's animated, tells you stories that stick in your mind, makes jokes and stays high energy throughout the 3-hour walk.

Ashley has got to be the best tour guide I've ever met. He is an amazing storyteller and manages to bring Prague and the Czech history to life. I've now done 5 of such tours in other cities (Sofia, Santiago de Chile, Valparaiso, Budapest, Vienna) and this is by far the best. If you have a chance to take a... More

Me and a friend went on a walking tour with Joshua and we could not have praised him more. He was so so knowledgable about the city and made everything interesting and current. We have recommended the tour to many people and would definitely try out another one. Thank you again Joshua!

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
